Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
The progress has been acknowledged. It happened after weeks of extremely heated exchanges between Bibi and the international community, particularly from Biden. The initial results were an absolute disaster due to the time it took.

The way the first sentence paints the airdrops is pretty ridiculous.

by Victor P

its pretty grim

Well, at least the people of Gaza can take solace that Hezbollah and the Houthis are killing Asian farmers and sailors in response. Any day now I am sure we can expect these efforts to bear fruit for the Palestinian people.

I will say it is going to be awkward the day after when Hamas comes out of the tunnels and they are all obese.

Israel didn't cause any catastrophe

Hamas did

Really wish people would stop making deliberately obtuse comments like this

If you think Israel, right now, is not "causing catastrophe" in Gaza, then you simply cannot be taken seriously

We are getting reports of STARVATION and the US has resorted to airdrops of god knows what

You cannot sit itt and say w a straight face Israel isn't the cause of this

Just bc 10/7 happened does not mean Israel was required to do exactly what they're doing. They can do more for the Gazans in morbid plight right now than they are

If the hostages got returned and Israel was still doing this you would be right

Until the hostages are returned it's al on hamas

All of it

Their own government has put them in this position but you want the people they attacked to be the ones to help?

Stop

lets take for the sake of argument that Israel is actually attacking Hamas (lol). Israel, with the best weaponry and resources in the history of war is not able to eliminate them.

but you expect a bunch of poor and starving blockaded refugees to beat Hamas?

I think it's not only hamas, but the people defending its actions within and outside Palestine as well.

without that immense international pressure, Israel would have done much more much sooner to seal the deal on Hamas, they are actually extremely constrained in their response.

Israel at various times supported, funded, or propped up Hamas for the last 2 decades lol

Is Teflon at all familiar with Mets overall body of work, maturity level, and general disposition? It might help.

Bibi does not allow other peace keepers inside.

This means this is entirely of Israel's doing, in particular because Bibi has refused any form "the day after" planning which has been a major complaint from Biden and others since the beginning.

Just because Israel will struggle to fix the problem they've created doesn't mean they don't have a responsibility to do so.

Who are these "peace keepers" Bibi isn't letting in? I am not aware of anyone who has volunteered peacekeepers.

I doubt many people are going to volunteer for something that isn't happening, but the obvious answer is PA.

why not the UN?

by Luciom P

why not the UN?

UNRWA is still there. Israel has killed 154 of them and coerced the world to cut off its funding on straight lies. they are now starting to get funding back from the EU and Canada bc lol the lies were obv.

anyway, they cant do much bc Israel kills them.

The most powerful military on Earth couldn't beat the barefoot Victor Charlie.

Israel intends to do differently

What do you think Hamas leadership has thought about this? I don't assume they don't realize this.

We never expected Gazans to do anything other than what they've done: succumb to Islamist authority, and provide support and sanctuary to the most agitated ants/ jihadis of their population.

I hope to have the courage to do my part versus vanilla isis in rural Missouri, should things balkanize. Chris Hedges says it's possible lol

You make no sense dustin

Let's assume i agree when you: Israel wanted hamas in power

Why? Because they were friends?

No. Because hamas did not want 2 states. And Israel didn't think they would get powerful enough to threaten Israel

What does that have to do with anything today?

This isn't a game. Hamas wants to destroy Israel. Israel wants to destroy hamas

So you bringing up the point that Israel may have at one time propped up hamas means what now?

Who gives a ****

I was asking Victor what he thinks about what Hamas thinks about the help they've received. Nothing more nothing less.

Ok

I apologize

Luckbox consistently puts too much weight in temporary alignment of interests, and sees conspiracies where none exist, IMO. At one point or another Israel seems to have temporarily aligned with pretty much everyone in the region, including Iran. But I dont think most of this holds the weight or importance Luckbox does.

temporary alignment of interest is not "conspiracy theory" in the colloquial meaning. (it is in the literal meaning but no one really uses that meaning except myself).

by Luckbox Inc P

I was asking Victor what he thinks about what Hamas thinks about the help they've received. Nothing more nothing less.

Victor doesn't feel it is his place to question the strategy or tactics of the resistance; including Iran, Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, North Korea, Russia, ISIS, Boko Haram, Khmer Rouge, etc.. His criticism is solely for Israel and the US.

ISIS is western backed and in opposition to the Axis of Resistance.

Khmer, again western backed although I dont think they really exist anymore.

Russia and North Korea are not part of the Resistance.

hope that clarifies things.
