Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

get the book series, its so good.

Super easy casual read.

I wasn't really that impressed by the book or TV series - both just about readable/watchable.

I agree. I actually think the TV series is a better story.

Has anyone given Apples Never Fall a shot? I'm just starting it and the cast is freaking stacked! The plot seems interesting and has some cool places it could go. But the production is strange. At the 9:16 or so mark of episode 1, it's lit like a sitcom and the camera isn't very steady. It's almost like they took a page from The Curse or something lol

Looks like it was fluke thing. Must’ve been a last minute reshoot on a budget.

I’m on episode 5 and it’s pretty decent. Didn’t need to be 7 episodes but each episode is named after a character, whether they’re the focus or not. Worth a watch is you have nothing else lol

Jfc. They remade River Wild. Hollywood execs need to be put out to pasture.

Poor Things is absolute trash. I finally got to the point where I told my wife, "turn this **** off", and she didn't hesitate lol.

We started watching This Is US and surprisingly I like it more than her. Her take is that for all the good things she has heard about it, she is kind of disappointed. Her beef is that EVERYTHING is over-dramatized and the characters whine about things way too much. I see her point but I still like it for the most part. We are about six or seven episodes into it.

I’m only a few episodes into season 2, but This Is Us is tracking to be one of the best shows I’ve ever watched.

The writing, acting, and storyline are phenomenal. Available on Hulu.

I posted this a week and a half ago. I think it's great. I'm into season 3, and I think the show gets better and better as the characters continue to develop.

I finished episode 3 of The Gentlemen last night and I don’t think I can even finish. What a ridiculously dumb show. I can’t believe Guy Ritchie put his name on this

If you're looking for a very easy and absurdly hilarious watch, Girls5Eva season 3 is great halfway through. It's very 30 Rock with the speed and frequency of the jokes. The songs are annoying, to me, and I think it's probably Busy Phillips' worst role to date, but Renée Elise Goldsberry is freaking brilliant in this. It's probably the most ridiculous character in the show and but she kills it. She's got singing chops for days and they're shown often enough but she seriously has Will Ferrell in SNL level commitment to it. She won't win an Emmy to go with her Tony, but I think she should be considered.

Because I do not stream, I finally took the time to watch Fincher's/Netflix The Killer disc I own...

I must say that I truly loved it. I might be the only one that love's Alien 3 for being the most adult film in that IP's series, but Fincher's take on the Fastbender character is the slow burn that is right up my 'pleasure sensors' alley.

Plebs British comedy about two friends and a slave in Ancient Rome. It's an easy watch that delivers a couple chuckles each (short) episode. Seasons 1-3 are good and apparently it falls off after that.

Tokyo Vice Saw a thread on Twitter today about how Max declined to promote this (very good) series. The lead had some controversy after he was caught having some inappropriate relations with a 17 year old when he was 20. The series is based on a book from an American journalist in Tokyo. Also some accusations of fabrications in the story. But none of this bothers me. With of all the junk on TV these days, you can't go wrong with this series. Currently nearing the end of s2.

Animal Kingdom Only a few eps in, but looks pretty solid so far. Hoping it gets better since it has a lot of seaons. Great movie if you haven't seen it.

Enjoyed Plebs a lot, Grumio and Landlord were great.

Joel Fry (main guy with the afro) left after S3 which was a real shame.

2 episodes out of 3 watched of Palm Royale so far and... I have no idea what the hell is going on or what the hell show is even about. Is it a dramedy? A thriller? A mystery? Aside from "mini-series", I can't figure out what genre it's claiming. Incredible cast but nothing in this gives them anything to do. It's so annoyingly bright and colorful that it almost hurts to watch. I'm waiting to see what Carol Burnett brings to the table before I drop it, but I don't see much of a reason to keep going.

I watched the first 3, it's decent, we should see some Carol Burnett action coming soon, Ricky Martin said so on a talk show today. lol

"The lead had some controversy after he was caught having some inappropriate relations with a 17 year old when he was 20"

americans are so crazy with cancelation..

Are you a sad loser when you get with a 17yo at 20? yeah.. is it a crime? no.

Back in the good old days, us poker players left home 1 day after turning 18 and flew to live across the pond by ourselves.. you're not a baby anymore

I am glad there is only 1 more episode of Constellation, I don't know how many more times I can take this annoying kid saying Mamma.

The count has to be close to 100 by now.

Actually, I just read some of what happened in a Vulture article. It's pretty messed up. There were several underage girls and he sent an 8th grader dick pics. Ok, so I retract my statement that it doesn't bother me. This guy is an idiot. He was on track to become a big movie star and despite a good performance in Tokyo Vice (where he went as far as to learn to speak Japanese), he's not getting much publicity for it because of all this dumb ****. Instead of dating models he messed around with underage girls. The 17 year old was a virgin when he had sex with her.

House of Dragon Season 2, June 16th.

Not to mention that the legal age of consent across the US breakdown is:

16 in 29 States
17 in 9 States
18 in 12 States

So in 76% of the US, he literally did nothing illegal.

Tokyo Vice is unwatchable. HBO knew it was a dud and would have looked past any improprieties if it wasn't.

Currently watching The Recruit and The Gentlemen on NF. Loving both. Resisted The Recruit because I thought it might be a remake of the Al Pacino film, which I didn't appreciate when I saw it many years ago. Much better IMO, infinitely more entertaining. Only have one episode left in S1, hoping for a S2.

Currently thru E3 of The Gentlemen. If you like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Snatches, you'll like this, I think.

I've been binging The Crown and surprisingly liking it a lot. Just got to the Dominic West season though and not too sure about him as Charles. I've never followed the royals in the slightest so the watch has involved a lot of pause and google.

the killer was decent, I enjoyed it for what it was (whatever it is)

Checked out the new Roadhouse remake on Prime. It was done well enough to stand on it's own. It was slightly funnier than the original, with some good action. If you watch it without comparing it to the original, it could be decent. If you compare them, the original blows it away as expected.

Yeah The Crown is pretty good.

At first, I didn't realize how good of job Gillian Anderson did playing Thatcher until I saw her speak in that Netflix Cold War documentary.

She killed it imo.

Dominic's acting as Charles seemed a little forced, something was off.
