Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

Checked out the new Roadhouse remake on Prime. It was done well enough to stand on it's own. It was slightly funnier than the original, with some good action. If you watch it without comparing it to the original, it could be decent. If you compare them, the original blows it away as expected.

I feel like I can now confidently say that I've seen the worst acting in the history of acting. I'm sort of a fan of Conor McGregor pre... Something... I don't really know when he change into whatever the hell he is now. Probably the Floyd fight. Basically, his come-up was great. He was a "heel" until the fight, then a fairly smart and respectful about how he and his team went about their plan. And he no doubt put the work in. I don't know what the hell he's doing in this. Every facet is horrid and since he's often in loud areas, the ADR is even worse.

I dug it though. Jake was fun to watch, especially early on when he clearly knew what he was getting in to.

If you're into Asian shows. "Delete" is from thailand. It is cheesy as are most asian shows but still very fun if you can disconnect from reality.

Yeah The Crown is pretty good.

At first, I didn't realize how good of job Gillian Anderson did playing Thatcher until I saw her speak in that Netflix Cold War documentary.

She killed it imo.

Dominic's acting as Charles seemed a little forced, something was off.

Hey, I did my best

I found it enjoyable. The big difference vs. the original is that when I'm channel surfing and land on certain scenes from the original, I'll almost always watch it. I doubt I'll ever see this again.

So the big difference is that one is good and the other sucks?

Would label them enjoyable vs. rewatchable.

I watched the original right after to wash the remake off of me and it mostly worked. I also forgot how incredibly sexy Kelly Lynch was in that role. Good god….

Just watched episode 5 of 3 body problem. Welp, that was the most horrifying thing I've ever seen.

Just watched this last night. Conor looked really coked out. Had coke bloat and everything.

I’m enjoying this show WAY more than I thought I would. And yeah, that was freaking intense!! The visuals in this are outstanding!

I’m not 100% sure I know what the story actually is. Or rather, I haven’t “figured out” the end of the season reveals before they happen. But it’s been a great ride through 6 episodes. Will finish later in the week.

mr inbetween one of the best shows in recent years

It really is - Great writing and of course an astounding performance by Scott Ryan really elevate this show.

Hard to think of another show that elicits such a range of emotional responses, particularly considering it's modest run time of about 25 mins per episode.

I was worried the story wouldn't translate well to TV. Happy to say I was wrong. Loving it. Best SciFi in ages.

Re: the bolded: e1-5 basically summarized the main story.

Not a book spoiler, but from the first five episodes of the show:

Spoiler
Show

50 years earlier, an advanced aliens civilization noticed a signal from us and responded. A "pacifist" from that civilization warned us not to communicate with them. We ignored the warning. The aliens communicate via telepathy and are incapable of deception. Evans inadvertently revealed that humans are capable of deception which scared them. Now they are coming for us and, using quantum entanglement, they know what we're doing to combat them even thought they are 4 light years away. The only plus is that it will take 400 years for their fleet to get here.

As someone who read the books, the show exceeds my expectations so far.

Constellation finale in 1 hour, it better be good. lol

The new Road House was ok, better than a normal movie of that type but of course no comparison to the original.

Season 2 of American Rust called: American Rust: Broken Justice will be on Freevee on Thursday. I think only on freevee and not through Prime, not sure. don't know if it will premiere 1 day early (5pm PST) like prime shows do.

I know there was at least 1 person in here that loved season 1, I never finished it and it's nowhere available to stream currently.

edit: Prime shows 3am EST on the 28th, so I guess it's on prime.

interesting to see roadhouse get an ok review, looks like it could only be absolute garbage or the next die hard

It’s absolute garbage that should die hard.

😃

Roadhouse was terrible, even if you havnt seen the original to compare it to. (the original is a great movie of its era) sam elliot "the double douche" 😃

Jake G is a great actor he seems to be under used imo for better films not sure why.

Conor M is just a steroid head and as soon as he enters the movie it goes from a 6 to 1/10 , i would say the only people voting it good would be UFC fans

as a whole id give the film 4/10 maybe 3/10

Roadhouse was a nothing burger. Jake was fine, Connor has no clue how to act. He was laughably bad.

that gal's got entirely too many brains to have an ass like that

that gal's got entirely too many brains to have an ass like that

which gal, asking for a friend

you missed the first roadhouse question mijo

oh i see, he must work out

Apparently the dude on the right used to bang dudes on the left in prison…. I’m not gay, but… I mean… I don’t NOT understand…

i think the main appeal of roadhouse was everyone thinking about prison rules scenarios if they were in a cell with all the bros
