ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

It's pretty simple from the perspective of people who use the term. If you think that Trump is a terrible person and was a terrible president, then you have TDS because he is a great person and was a great president.

no, it's about when during the presidency, absolutely insane claims where made about trump admin decisions and actions.

For ex people affected by TDS were going with "Trump has started a war vs Iran now that he executed their general" , or claims Trump was antivaxxer when he bragged about WARP all the times, stuff like that.

People who criticize him the way you do don't have TDS

That does not comport with how MAGA chuds like blowie here use "TDS" at all. You are again pulling definitions out of your ass because that's how you would prefer it to be, but it's not that way.

Odor in the Court!

Notice how far apart Donald Trump lawyers are now sitting away from him?

Remember when he had a sudden “health checkup” and was driven to
the hospital? He refused to tell us why. Sources said he had a colon issue.

Donald Trump was kicked out of a New York steakhouse in the 80's,
he was asked to leave because his odor was so offensive.

“He eats burgers, meatloaf and snorts speed”. That explains Trump having the sniffles all the time.

I am giving you the definition and usage among people on the right i talked with for years, and the use i would make of that acronym as well.

To note, i don't think it has any use today that trump isn't president anymore, aside for people who have some fantastical claims about possible future trump actions if he wins (but at least, that might come out to be true no matter how remote the possibility, unlike the claims from 2016 to 2020)

Huge crowd of supporters protest outside of his trial in New York City.

Every single Trump supporter in New York turned up.

Both of them.

You literally saw two different right wing posters ITT use it in the last day. Let me guess, they are not real right wingers (TM)?

one certainly isn't the kind of person i interact with normally

That wasn't the question, but don't worry, it was rhetorical to demonstrate that you pull definitions from thin air to suit your agenda. In case it needs elaboration: "right winger" is not defined "the kind of person with whom Luciom normally interacts".

It would be nice if someday you learned you're the only one that lives in that bizarre world you think is "normal."

i just told you how TDS is used *among the rightwing people i interact with*, i am not making that up.

Not saying that's how everyone uses it.

Fact is a decent amount of people went completly crazy from the left about Trump from the day he won, not unlike how some maga people are crazy about him, for very different reasons.

Right, but you initially offered "how it's used among the people you interact with" as the categorical definition. You have a habit of discarding common usage, applying your own definitions, then using them as precepts when formulating your arguments. This approach is obviously rather problematic, as it's essentially circular: first, we define the term how we like, then we argue that it is that "by definition".

Again, I'm sure you understand all this and are doing it on purpose, so this is more for the benefit of others reading this exchange than it is for yours.

I can't speak to your Italian friends, but it is rare to encounter a remotely reasonable person in the United States who talks about Trump Derangement Syndrome. I would say it is approximately as common as encountering a reasonable person who make frequent use of the term "libtard."

The problem is you're not a "normal person" like Luciom is. This is how "normal people" talk.

And this is what I'm really concerned about w/ people like Luciom. The marginalization of people who don't think, look, or act like them. This is how we get major fascist death cults about every 80 years in our history.

I'm concerned w/ how they demonize liberals, trans people, POC, immigrants, etc... It's only one smaller step mentally to justify why they shouldn't exist in your world. And with the rise of fascist movements across the globe, we're right smack dab in the middle stages of how this all unfolds.

This is exactly how it all happens. And it is a real concern of mine.

People like Trump not only enable this mentality, they stoke it, and they use it to achieve their own goals. All of his supporters are just pawns to him.

D2, you are going to remain post leader in here if you keep on correcting every one of Luciom's wrongs. Just sayin'.

I just need to stay ahead of (well, behind, really) Rococo. Like that old punchline "I don't need to outrun the bear, I just need to outrun you".

Nice post, FD

President Trump just got a Hero's Welcome in NYC, a city where 75% (supposedly) voted for Byden. How's that even possible? And Byden visited a city where he got 50% of the vote but he was booed into oblivion. What's wrong with this picture?

What's the latest line on this? Rigged ballots? Mind control? Chemtrails? How do the 5 star general uncle playbigs explain this?

most of those deplorables don't live in the city. they vote against their own interests in sad little no brown people towns on Long Island and in Westchester

Should we consider the simplest explanation, which is that you are bound to find several hundred ardent Trump supporters in a city of 10 million people?

I assume that PB's real point is that this gathering proves that New York is secretly pro-Trump and that the election was rigged.

by Rococo P

How about the simplest explanation? In a city of 10 million people, it isn't surprising that several hundred are very ardent Trump supporters.

Well that's just out there.

I had assumed the same, hence my suggestion of rigged ballots. Also, I strongly suspect this was a choreographed event, as it's pretty unlikely Trump is just going to show up at a random spot in NYC to likely get booed and pelted with rotten eggs.

What do you call people who now claim that Biden has started wars in Ukraine and Israel?

Biden supporters aren't the kind of people who show up at the rallies of other people to boo at them. What other possibilities are there? Did you really think that 25% of the population of the NYC area wasn't enough to fill the place where Trump was speaking?
