Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
how about putting them in hospitals and schools

how about putting them in hospitals and schools

How about putting them next to schools? Or inside of villages?

by Victor P

no they are firing at the bases there. maybe dont put your military bases in civilian population centers.

Well, this is exactly what Hamas does. So glad to hear you accept Israel isn't committing genocide.

does Israel do that? probably. we know that Hamas does not.

we know that hamas does

no, even the mainstream media doesnt talk about the Shifa claims anymore. just another in the pile of Goebellesque lies that you guys repeat to justify burning children alive for fun and sport.

Yes hamas military bases are invisible

The real Hamas bases were the friends we made along the way.

That's because they just use school rooms and hospitals

The Biden administration paused a shipment of weapons to Israel last week in opposition to Israel's apparent plan to invade Rafah, a senior administration official said on Tuesday. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin later became the first senior U.S. official to publicly confirm the pause when he told a Senate committee "we are currently reviewing some near-term security assistance in the context of unfolding events in Rafah."
AIPAC called on Congress to challenge the Biden administration to reverse its decision to pause a shipment of bombs to Israel given concerns over Rafah, saying the delay "emboldens Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah." An Israeli official told NBC News that Israel is deeply frustrated by the decision. Israel's envoy to the U.S., Gilad Erdan, said the decision is "very disappointing."
■ HOSTAGES/CEASE-FIRE: Israel sees no sign of a breakthrough in Egyptian-mediated talks on a cease-fire/hostage release deal with Hamas, but is keeping its delegation of mid-level negotiators in Cairo for now, an Israeli official told Reuters.
PM Netanyahu met with CIA chief Bill Burns in Israel. The two discussed the possibility of Israel pausing operations in Rafah in exchange for hostage release, a senior Israeli official said.

PM Netanyahu is rolling back truce negotiations to their starting point, a senior Hamas official told Qatar's The New Arab, adding that "the hostages' families need to know that the latest round of talks is the last chance to bring their sons back."

pretty sad that a they are murdering their own civilians for the opportunity to do a genocide. the world sees them for who they are at this point and Israel will be a pariah state and go down in history as one of the greatest evils.

The US suspension of a weapons shipment to Israel (1,800 2,000lb bombs and 1,700 500-pounders) seems to be unprecedented. People are trying to present it as Biden bowing to the angry campus adolescents, but more likely the administration is just annoyed at the Israelis.

Today the administration seems to have missed a legally required deadline for a report to Congress (required by a national security memo signed by Biden himself in February) on whether recipients of US military aid are using it in a manner consistent with international law. It does look like the administration is getting seriously annoyed at the position Netanyahu's put it in.

We know that Hamas does do that. The population density in Gaza may make it inevitable, or at least difficult to avoid, but Hamas shows no sign of trying to avoid it and every sign of trying to exploit it. Terrorist orgs engaged in 'asymmetric warfare' tend to be like that.

we have seen no such thing. until there is any evidence, why repeat it? and furthermore, it makes no sense. why would Hamas go to hospitals and schools when they know that those are the first places that Israel will attack.

this idea presupposes that either Hamas is stupid. or that they want to cause civilian death. both are not supported by any evidence other than Oriental racism.

anyway, quick daily reminder of what BOIDs and mets and their ilk stand for

Peaceful protests

The city is besieged, guys. Don't worry, the IDF doesn't need any more bombs from Joe Biden to inflict mass casualties on the Palestinian people, they can do it the old fashioned way.

Vic and the hamas leader think alike

In your greatly esteemed opinion, should hamas stay in power?
