Ukraine-Russia War Take 2
Here is what the preliminary take on the Ukraine thread disappearing is:
The site was hit with a massive spam attack where hundreds of spam threads were created. In the case where, for example, I see a single spam thread and delete it, that is called a soft delete, and mods can still see them but forum members cannot. Those deletion can be undone.
When a massive attack hits with hundreds of threads, an admin uses a different procedure where the hundreds of spam threads are merged and then hard deleted, where the threads are gone, and no note is left behind. As I have mentioned with my own experience of just soft deleting a large number of posts, sometimes a post or thread gets checked or merged accidentally and is deleted by mistake. Dealing with hundreds of spam threads takes a sledgehammer, not a scalpel.
It appears that our Ukraine thread may have gotten caught up in that recent net of spam threads. If so, it is likely gone for good. I cant say this for sure, and am awaiting comments from admins on this issue. Yes, this sucks. And hopefully there was some other software glitch that caused the disappearance, and we may recover it in the future.
But in the meantime, I have created this new Ukraine-Russia War thread to enable the conversation to continue. Obviously continuity with earlier discussions will be lost. There is no way around that. So as best as possible, let's pick up the conversation with recent events and go from there.
If you have any questions about this, please post them in the mod thread, not here. Let's keep this thread going with posts about the war, not the disappearance of the old thread.

thats not what sealioning is btw. not that it really matters. its kinda the opposite in that I really dont want to engage substantively with you on your opinions about well...me. if you want to talk about the war and the motivations and actions of the main players, I will be happy to engage. but I dont really want to talk about myself as much as you do.

When you give this clearly bad faith attempt at describing how I've dealt with you over the past year, the logical way to disprove what you're saying is to provide the evidence which disproves it. You've asked the bunch of bad faith questions, they've been addressed. You've posted the bunch of bad faith arguments which have been refuted. Over a year ago I called you out on this: you will say something, be shown clear evidence how it is false, disappear, and then come back a little while later with the same argument as if it hadn't been debunked.
You are now, once again in bad faith, saying that I haven't done these things so I should supply the bunches of evidence. Well here they are, these are just the ones from the past month. I think anyone ITT will attest to the fact that I've addressed them multiple times in the previous thread and likely several more times in this thread. I find it hard to believe that you forgot all of these, so it is absolutely sea lioning.

there was def a war before 2022 lol. and yes I agree with Russia going back. unfortunately, bombs and tanks didnt work. maybe they should have tried talking. a lot more people would be alive and Russia would have a lot less territory.
I think that the West and the USA does not care if Russia overruns Ukraine. they just want to weaken Russia and it doesnt matter how many Ukrainians die so long as they can profit in resources or power.
There was no war with Russia.
Why would have Russia taken less land if talked with lol.
We want a weaker Russia which absolutely means we don't want Russia to get it's hand to more farmland and natural resources. Still nothing to do with not taking Ukraine side every time.

Another bad faith argument. I have conversed with plenty of posters who do not agree with me and if they are willing to post in faith I am willing to address their arguments. The problem is when they do not post in good faith, the way that you are doing now.

You are twisting words here and also making a bad faith assumption of what I am trying to discuss, even after I have corrected you several times (kind of a pattern). The argument has nothing to do with Palestine even if it was posted in the Palestine thread. The thing I am drawing attention to is the logic of the post, we can completely remove the specific details if you wish.

The point is the specifics of the situations do not matter: either the logic works or it doesn't. Does it work or does it not?

If a non-Victor poster goes into a thread and criticizes both sides, Victor can deem that person to be on one side but not the other.
If Victor goes into a thread and criticizes only one side for over a year, then it is not ok to accuse Victor of being on one side over the other.
