Ukraine-Russia War Take 2
Here is what the preliminary take on the Ukraine thread disappearing is:
The site was hit with a massive spam attack where hundreds of spam threads were created. In the case where, for example, I see a single spam thread and delete it, that is called a soft delete, and mods can still see them but forum members cannot. Those deletion can be undone.
When a massive attack hits with hundreds of threads, an admin uses a different procedure where the hundreds of spam threads are merged and then hard deleted, where the threads are gone, and no note is left behind. As I have mentioned with my own experience of just soft deleting a large number of posts, sometimes a post or thread gets checked or merged accidentally and is deleted by mistake. Dealing with hundreds of spam threads takes a sledgehammer, not a scalpel.
It appears that our Ukraine thread may have gotten caught up in that recent net of spam threads. If so, it is likely gone for good. I cant say this for sure, and am awaiting comments from admins on this issue. Yes, this sucks. And hopefully there was some other software glitch that caused the disappearance, and we may recover it in the future.
But in the meantime, I have created this new Ukraine-Russia War thread to enable the conversation to continue. Obviously continuity with earlier discussions will be lost. There is no way around that. So as best as possible, let's pick up the conversation with recent events and go from there.
If you have any questions about this, please post them in the mod thread, not here. Let's keep this thread going with posts about the war, not the disappearance of the old thread.

Each time I've accused you of telling a lie I have explained in depth how it is a lie. Then you come back and repeat it. That's on you, not me.

When I rephrased your argument so we could address the logic you continued to claim it is impossible to discuss. If you truly believe that your logic only works for one situation but cannot be applied to other situations then it is not sound logic and you should just admit you were creating rules for others and excusing yourself from your own rules. If you continue to ignore that I have informed you exactly what I am saying and exactly what we are talking about then you will be continuing to spread more lies. This is a fact. I have stated it multiple times. I think this is the most important issue being dealt with today and it will set a precedence for how world politics progresses for the next century or more. I also have both Russian and Ukrainian friends and am close to people heavily involved with the war and events leading up to the war.

As explained multiple times now, addressing the logic of a statement can be done without addressing the details.
Here is a good faith interpretation of your position:

By applying this logic to some situations and not others, you are being a hypocrite. We do not need to get into the details, or hell you can mention why it's OK to always back Russia, and to never criticize Russia except to offer some throwaway "of course Russia is bad" (usually followed by "but...") or say "I don't back Russia" despite all of your actions pointing towards you backing Russia.
You are giving bad faith excuses to not discuss your hypocrisy. You are spreading lies about both what I've said and now what CN said. Stop.

The context does not matter, and you are even allowed to discuss the Russia/Ukraine war context of this but you refuse to. You are continuing to lie about my motivations, you are continuing to lie about what is and is not allowed to be discussed, and you are also continuing to lie about the fact that you are undoubtedly hiding from confronting your own hypocrisy.

I do think these are pretty nasty personal attacks and if I made such accusations towards you about your Western biases then I would permabanned quickly.

You made this the Victor thread awhile ago. I explained how. I would love to have a Ukraine thread, I've given my recommendations on how to bring it back to being a Ukraine thread; so far they've been ignored. Until we address the fact that there's a poster whose very presence derails the thread, we can't really go back to having a Ukraine thread. I'll remind you how the thread got derailed today:
why is it more weird to see a Ukrainian flag compared to a Palestinian flag. one is a country that exists and the other is one that never will. I always found it incredibly strange how you can be pro russia and pro hamas supporting both seems just so unlogical to me
This is a perfectly legitimate take on your views, and the logic you refuse to address agrees with this. You are being invited to address the logic but you refuse to do so, and instead hide behind a lie about rules that you've made up. You then further derailed the thread by posting a debunked narrative, which you've posted dozens of times before and has been thoroughly addressed each and every time, including this time. You don't want to discuss Ukraine, you want to repeat Russian propaganda and not have it addressed. You want to shame others and not have the rules by which you determine who should be shamed used again you.
Explain this: why does the context matter? Why should this rule be applied in some contexts yet not others? You do NOT need to mention any specific instances to address this question:

You called my attempts to discuss this issue in an intelligent manner an attempt to "jack myself off". You took the time to figure out how many times I've posted ITT, and what % of the threads posts it was... What word do you want to use other than obsessed?

Why are you surprised that someone who lived in China at some point in their life (or if you thought I was Chinese) would have an interest in Ukraine? What about being Chinese or having lived in China makes it strange for someone to take an interest in the war in Ukraine?

But seriously: these type of dumb arguments are a result of more than a year of "calling it a night". I've explained to multiple mods that I'm at my limit. I've asked to be allowed to ignore Victor and told I cannot. I spent over a year replying in good faith and not having that courtesy returned to me. I've now got 72off trolling me for some reason?
You can lock the thread, but I won't be calling it a night on my own, I've done that for a year and gotten nothing from it.
