ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

A deluded NPC take from someone not grounded in reality and too many boosters. This "conviction" was gasoline and a match for his support. No one with a rational cell in his brain thinks this trial wasn't a complete sham and corrupt to the core. And all those people on the fence who have normal cognitive abilities see this and will vote for him.

Sympathy or revenge seems like a rather silly reason to vote for the leader of one's country; are you sure that many people are going to make their decision on such a basis?

who should the Republican party pivot to as their nominee?

Tim Scott?

In what world do you think DJT still isn't going to be the nominee?

You don't understand the power of populism in the current climate.

That's possible, or maybe the power of populism is already priced in? It seems to me that most people who are swayed by populism were already in his camp.

You're a perfect example of leftist racism. The same people think black people aren't smart enough to acquire a driver's license. Liberal white people are sooo condescending to minorities.

I am Hispanic. This might be a hard to believe, but I do not share any affinity or sympathy with criminals.

You are racist garbage.

The end.

Black support will NOT increase with a guilty verdict.

Hope that helped!

There's a direct correlation to a rise in Trump's support with every attempt to attack him via the legal system.

How many millions voted for him twice for equally dumb reasons, and against their own benefit to boot.

I wonder if anyone can tell us with a straight face how that support is going to look after the tapes of him using the N-word while working on The Apprentice come out, though.

This would be bigger than a court case about business practices or paying off a porn star or any of that imo.

Yeah, the hard core MAGA would like it and/or claim the video is fake. But the visceral impact of him doing this would end him for middle of the road votes.

It isn't even like he called some horrible criminal that in a moment of anger, which would be bad enough.

Tim Scott? perhaps Ramaswamy?

The republicans are not replacing him just as the Dems are not replacing genocide Joe

Oh yeah, you can't be racist if you're not white. I forgot.

Well, I'm a black lesbian woman so I know what I'm talking about.

guilty as charged.

You say "genocide Joe" as if he's on some island by himself. You do know most of Washington including Trump are on that island too?

i was joking about the names but not the concept

forward thinking Rs are thinking how the hell do we get Haley to the top of the ticket

the problem for American conservatives is there aren't enough forward thinking ppl in the party their ideology has morphed into. too many of them are ensconced in their 1950s fever dreams

but hey, i'm w you. plz plz plz run Donald out there in five months time

The reality is the right will scream rigged on the trial verdict and when the Supreme Court over rules the verdict the left will scream rigged

I'm a black lesbian woman

doubt it

A large portion of DJT support comes from people disillusioned with the uniparty and RINOs. It's Trump on the ballot or the country completely disintegrates in short order.

And the left would be correct in this instance. DUCY?

racist!

Trump's guilty verdict reminds us why he loves authoritarians

by diebitter P

So a ruling by the highest legal authority cannot be correct but a low level, politically motivated kangaroo court is?

holy crap this verdict sure triggered at least one person.

There are definitely people that may have been convinced to vote Trump for whom this is a disqualifier now.

There are also definitely people who might've sat this one out who will now certainly go out and pull a lever for The Don, 34 time felon. For the lulz, of course.

People who think this makes him more black and thus more attractive to black voters are more wrong than right, but also still a little bit right. His popularity with criminals just went way up, again, if only for the lulz.
