Welcome to the official WPT Global thread!
WPT Global is the real-money online poker business of the World Poker Tour, and we’re about to celebrate our two-year anniversary, having launched in April 2022. After such a short time, we’re already the third-largest online poker room in the world (ranked by PokerScout.com, based on cash game traffic).
We’re joining TwoPlusTwo to share information with you, engage with the community, and answer any questions you might have.
WPT Global is special for a few reasons:
- Our modern platform has been built from the beginning to leverage AI technology. We use this in two main ways. The first is to protect the games by detecting collusion, bot use, RTA use and other forms of cheating extremely quickly. We have the best Game Integrity tech I’ve experienced in my 19 years in the industry, and a team of around 50 people using it.
- The second way we utilise AI technology is in managing our ecology. We ensure that games are sustainable and beatable by reserving seats in every game for casual players and limiting the number of seats per table that can be occupied by highly skilled professionals. I’ll go into more detail on this point later, in the below FAQ, but the net result is - we have the softest cash games you’ll find online, and typical win-rates for regs are 5-10x higher than elsewhere. (If you don't’ believe me, just try them and see for yourself).
- We have had a large liquidity pool from the very beginning, especially in cash games. This is because we partnered with a couple of successful Asia-facing poker rooms to bootstrap their liquidity. Most poker startups face an enormous challenge in growing their liquidity from scratch - this solution allowed us to launch with cash games running 24/7 and it contributes to our soft player pool. Now, WPT Global is a large poker site in its own right and less dependent on the Asia liquidity, and we’re growing our games in US Dollars all the time.
- There is enormous value on offer - our explicit aim is to pay back more to players via promotions and giveaways than any other site. Check out our current promotions here.
- Global Spins is our unique twist on the Jackpot SNG concept, with a progressive jackpot and the lowest rake in the industry (5%).

Some of you might remember me and my colleague WPT Global Peter from our previous roles. Many years ago, I was one of the first site representatives ever to engage with the 2+2 community, as the first PokerStars representative in the ‘PokerStars Software Improvement Thread’. Later, Peter and I ran the ‘Official MPN - Microgaming Poker Network...’. You can expect a similar level of transparency and responsiveness here. While I don’t promise to respond to every single thing, no constructive question or criticism is off limits.

What countries is WPT Global available in?
Currently, we have a .com licence and have not entered any regulated markets (although we will start to do so later this year). We’re open to most markets that have yet to regulate, including Canada (except Ontario), Ireland, New Zealand and most of Latin America, Asia and Africa.
We don’t (yet) accept players from the US, UK, Australia, Russia, and most of Europe. If you’re from one of these countries and want to qualify for WPT events then Club WPT might work for you!

How does the ecology management system work? Do you ban winners from playing at WPT Global?
Our ecology management system is specifically designed so that we can run sustainable games without having to penalise winners.
In cash games, our AI technology measures the skill level of every player and predicts their win rate. The model is highly accurate and continually updates so that it cannot be abused or ‘gamed’.
We reserve a number of seats at each cash game table for players that fall into one of our ‘casual player’ categories. In our most popular game (8-Handed NLHE with an ante and a straddle) we reserve six of the eight seats for casual players, which effectively means that highly-skilled pros can only occupy two seats.
Because there is plenty of liquidity, if you find yourself categorised as a pro, you can still always find a game to play at any stake, and you can guarantee yourself a seat in a great game if you start a table, since our ecology management system ensures that only one other pro can sit with you.
The system does not categorise players by their actual win rate, but by how skilled they are. If you have a great run of luck, you will not necessarily be categorised as a pro, and vice versa, you will not necessarily be categorised as a casual player if you run bad.
We find that once players get used to the system, they love it. Both pros and beginners have a better experience because we eliminate some of the common predatory behaviour that occurs elsewhere, and pros can achieve significantly higher win rates. I encourage you to give it a try!
What’s with the games in CNY currency?
Because we partnered with Asia-facing poker rooms to launch, some of our games are in Chinese Yuan (CNY) currency. At the time of writing, the exchange rate to the dollar is about 7.25 CNY to the USD. As we’ve become less dependent on the Asian liquidity we have introduced more USD games. Most cash games and all tournaments including Global Spins are now available in USD, and for those of you that want to play in the CNY games, there’s a handy currency converter in the lobby, and the ability to change the stacks to BB.

I been following the pattern of those accounts at this particular stake for months now. They seem to continue playing undisturbed on a daily basis.
A group of 4 players entering the tables in a spawn of 5 minutes. Usually at that stake, unless there is a big whale regulars just wait until the table seems suitable for them and it takes longer for table to fill up if there is no whale.
I am not the only player following the pattern some players actually tried to exploit the fact that they collude. We understand that they are part of the enviroment and try to adapt. I played a lot with the bots and have recorded hands of their weird play using other players blockers. I have been in the industry for 15 years or more on every big platform online at medium high stakes.
We are used to play against rta, collusion and other forms of cheating as they are present online for years now everywhere and i can easily identify those cheaters. This consistent abuse of the tables suggests for me that either there is a leak in the AI detection or bad intentions from someone inside.
Been 2 weeks since i send the daily bot accounts around 20 accounts i think, until now i just considered them as part of the enviroment. Went public with it because i trust Alex that he wants to create a fair chance for everyone, and although there methods are different they seem to make games more enjoyable for everybody, just hope that as he said this bot colluding accounts are
not a part of their strategy to make games fair, as i said patterns are obvious for anyone that has the capability to investigate and some reports were made since months now and nothing changed.
If you are a player at 10/20/40 please check how many tables have 4 players with a PFR 13 on a daily basis because most regulars have 14 or above.
Standard enough festival day today, but there is a $55 $35K NLHE event starting in ~1 hour from now. Our $11 Daily Raise PKO is up to $7,500 guaranteed and late registration is open for another 90 minutes
I see a bunch of regs faking their vpip/preflop raise stats, does this affect their ''rankings'' and being marked as a recreational player? Any possibility for you to filter stats that appear on each player more transparent? Stats from heads-up or 3 handed shouldn't be counted cause they all ''hack'' it.
They open new tables, play heads-up with a friend I assume and just insta click raise call infinite until they pump on their stats enough to look fishy and absurd. Then you see regs/pros with 49% vpip stats while in reality it is probably 20% and they just fooled us.

We are on pace to beat the guarantee quite nicely, and you can start to qualify for today's from $1.10! They open new tables, play heads-up with a friend I assume and just insta click raise call infinite until they pump on their stats enough to look fishy and absurd. Then you see regs/pros with 49% vpip stats while in reality it is probably 20% and they just fooled us.
If you want to DM me nicknames/UIDs of players you think might be trying to abuse something on WPT Global, I will pass on the information provided to our security team!
Please:
better formatting of table size/stacks and betsizes for pc, everything it relatevely to small requiring tables to be giant to be readable,
usable hh replayer, on pc its pretty much useless. Why not make it popout so it wpuldn't disturb the game or at very least make a hand reviewable in one window which does not cover a whole table? 😉 Currently I barely have enough time to find a hh I want to review and its my time to act, have to close replayer to resume the game and start all over so I would MAYBE make it to review hand in time before its my time to act again....
And it would also be nice if you guys would add color code/note taking so at least in these regards it would be a bit more fair vs players who use extra tools and have much smoother gameplay (hud+color code+not taking). It's just too much incentive to take a risk for these extra features when soft is so underdeveloped...

The fact that this type of things keep happening makes me wonder how you can catch bots or collusion which Is way More subtle than this stuff??? I reported exactly the same behaviour not long ago

No, this doesn’t affect FairGame (the ecology management system) but it might affect the stats that are shown for these players in the client. To be honest I’m
not sure what has been done to prevent this kind of abuse, but I’ll look into it and make sure it’s taken seriously. Please DM me with either your user ID (if you’ve already reported this to support) or the IDs of the players.

The penultimate day of our $7,000,000 guaranteed Spring Festival starts in a few minutes with a turbo flight to the $22 Spring Festival Mini Championship Day 2 ($150,000 GTD). A hyper-turbo flight will also start & finish before the day 2 begins at 10:00 UTC-5. Over $550K is guaranteed today, with the largest tournament being the $2,100 High Roller PKO ($250,000 GTD). ~65 people have already won feeders into the high roller, with the last chance for that starting at 10:20 UTC-5, where there are 8 seats guaranteed!

Do you lose the value of the ticket, or does it get refunded as $T/cash?
A very busy day, where we are awarding over $2,000,000, has just started! We have 2 more flights for both the $220 Spring Festival Championship ($500,000 GTD) and the $3,500 WPT Championship ($1,000,000 GTD) starting in a couple of hours, with feeders running to all now. Day 2s for both will start a few minutes after the last day 1s end. We also have a couple of $530 events, a $530 Sunday Builder with a $60,000 guarantee and later this evening a $530 Last Chance Turbo with $40,000 guaranteed. Our normal Slam events are also featuring today, so it should be a good day for players looking for some overlay!

The general rule is that festival tickets will expire once the festival is over, however we do review cases where it is not possible to use tickets due to there being no more opportunities to use them. This is done manually, once the festival is over and players will receive tickets for other tournaments that we run. If they are wanting tickets for the next festival (unannounced as of yet), they can contact us and I will exchange their tickets for the next festival. There will be no exchanges into cash and unfortunately $T is a ways off still

This is how it's described in the High Hand Jackpot T&Cs:
The High Hand Jackpot is funded by taking one big blind from any player who wins over 20 big blinds in a pot at a table where the Jackpot is running. This means, for example, if a player wins $40 or more in a hand at a $1/$2 table, $2 of it will go towards the Jackpot prize pool. If two players split a pot and win at least $40 each in this example, they both contribute $2 to the Jackpot, but if two players split a pot and win less than 20 big blinds each, neither pays towards the Jackpot, even if the total pot exceeds 20bb.

Do all jurojin features work in WPT? Is it possible to choose different types of bets?
Isn't this crazy and way too high? Tables are either 8 handed or 6, not always all seats filled, let's say avg 7 players.
Let's say you play 30k hands in a month at 1/2$, it's almost impossible for a pot to be under 20bb considering straddle and antes if we include preflop and non-call bets for the pot size.
So you win let's say 30k/7 players 20bb pots per month = 4 285 hands won, 4 000 of them were 20bb+, so you paid 8 000$/40 buy-ins in jackpot fees at 1-2$ stakes in the month with not that much volume played? How crazy is that, on top of regular rake of course.
I know you are suppose to win some part of jackpot sometimes but it is top heavy prizepool with only royal flush could make a dent on this paid jackpot fees so you never gonna accomplish the jackpot ev unless you walk on water.

Do you have a plan to show statistics for tournament? In Pokerking other players can see it but not WPT. It's disavantage for us to play tournament on WPT.

also, I just had an issue where I was playing on my phone, I looked at something else on my phone then came back on the app and there were no more sounds? is there a fix for this?
I know you are suppose to win some part of jackpot sometimes but it is top heavy prizepool with only royal flush could make a dent on this paid jackpot fees so you never gonna accomplish the jackpot ev unless you walk on water.
As a player I don't disagree with you, as the person running WPTG I can only say that the jackpot is extremely popular and it would probably hurt the site to remove it. We have some ideas for how to improve it in future though.
On the plus side even despite the additional jackpot contribution, the typical winning reg on WPTG still wins more than 5x in bb/100 terms than they would on Stars or GG. The games are that good.

Yes, generally if a feature is available with our Asia partners we will also introduce it in future. But we have different priorities to them so it may not be done at the same time, and I don't have a specific delivery date for this on WPTG.

I can't say for sure how long a collusion investigation might last I'm afraid, it depends on many factors such as the complexity of the case. However if you reported accounts and they continue to play then the most likely explanation is that we don't believe those accounts are involved in collusion.
When I'm able to report back on this case I'll do so
I understand, we'll patiently wait for the wpt team to do the player investigation. We'll conduct an investigation on our own with all the evidence that we can gather and if the final decision we'll be in favour of the colluders we'll post all the info we gathered so the community can determine for themselves if they want to play against those players on the platform.
We have all trust in wpt team to do the right thing for the poker ecology. Until then we'll just adapt to the platform endorsing this kind of behaviour.

I'll just chime in with my experience.
I reported an extremely blatant mtt abuser (the guy was literally making accounts with almost the same name, and entering 4-5 accounts into a pool of about 10 players to KO himself (super KO, not progressive).
The guy disappeared a few days after my report and I forgot about it, then I received an email thanking me for the report and $550 in tickets about 3 weeks later
I had played a lot vs this guy, he managed this incredible exploit for a while.
So cash games with less obvious abuse, and with players being slightly more smart than using almost the same bot-generated names, and manipulating 8bet pots preflop to get 3-4 of their accounts allin with trash etc, I'm sure it will take much longer than this.
If they take too long I'm sure we'd all love to see any reports. I've had my suspicions in cash when 4 or so new (less than 10k hands) players enter a table similar times and all have 30/13 stats or so, and all make tank-bluff catches on rivers with mixed or even bad bluff-catches (card sharing)? But I could just be paranoid lol.
