2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Going RB/RB takes away flexibility for taking a stud QB or TE because you gotta start clicking WRs for the next 4 rounds. Those WRs are what's leftover from the first two rounds.

Likely can play. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely. You have to know what you’re committing to when you go RB/RB. But given most of my teams are zero, hero or zombie, I like to change it up sometimes. CMC/Achane is my favorite combo, especially since I know I’ll be able to get a WR at the beginning of the 7th no matter what. Can still take a TE or QB at the 4/5 or 6/7 turn if you want, but a lot of times I’ll just stick to 5 WRs through the 7th.

If you’re at the back off of the draft, WR dries up before the end of the 7th. Sometimes it dries up in the middle.

Ppl were doing some weird **** in this one. Mahomes, Hurts, Lamar, and Stroud were all drafted by 2 tms back to back to back to back haha

Tlaw, Stroud, and Geno were all drafted naked too haha

Seeing this as well.

One person drafted Rodgers, Tua and Russ. All naked.

The only correlation he had was Hollywood to go with Russ and some Bills receivers to go with Rodgers.

Really like this tm I just got. Finally got a JT and Diggs share too

dk milly

Qb - Burrow, Levis, Dimes

Rb - JT, Pollard, Javonte, Kendre, Dowdle, Tracy

Wr - Chase, Diggs, Kirk, Hollywood, Nuk, Mims, Slayton, Iosivas

Te - Engram, Schultz, Chig

Fun team. The DK streets are the Wild West.

I know I should be playing poker but I did another one.

QB) Prescott, Mayfield

RB) Barkley, Kamara, Pollard, Corum, Lloyd

WR) Lamb, Evans, McLaurin, Hollywood, Ladd, McMillan, Zay Jones, R Moore

TE) Goedert, Freiermuth, Otton

Very solid team.

I think Levis and Dimes are gonna ball this year.

This comes up quite often for me (and others I'm guessing).

You're picking at 41 and then at 53. Let's say a player that correlates really well has an ADP between 51-56.

Will you take him at 41 and miss out on potentially better players, or wait and hope that he's still available when it's your pick at 53?

My friend just had Allen Lazard go first overall in a draft he is in . Wtf lol

Sometimes you gotta reach for a guy if you want him.

Do you mean picking 41 and 56? You have Josh Allen and you want James Cook?

I'll reach a little bit if it's for a QB. Ten or more spots seems to be too much. I'd wait in the situation you presented. If it doesn't work out you can pivot to another player or another stack. If it works out that is a big win especially in a big tournament. I look at the draft board and try to figure out if anybody would want my guy.

DK? They basically never cancel drafts do they?

UD would cancel that draft.

On dk. I assume it won’t get cancelled . Guy starting making normal picks he said. Maybe he for some reason had Lazard in his queue and timed out.

I finally got a Josh LU and feel like I made some mistakes (didn’t realize Rodger’s had the same bye as Josh until after I picked him, which caused a lot of scrambling)

Dk milly

Qb - Allen, Rodgers, Nix

Rb - Bijan, Warren, Zeke, Charb, Allen, Estime

Wr - London, Nabers, Keenan, Coleman, Odunze, Shakir, Corley, McMillan

Te - Bowers , Musgrave, Dulcich (bowers and musgrave also have the same bye, which I missed as well)

Here's my RB/RB

QB - Jayden, Jones

RB - Bijan, Achane, Pollard, Dowdle, Mclaughlin, Hull

WR - DeVonta, Terry, Kirk, Godwin, Jeudy, Dotson, Mooney, Chark, Slayton

TE - Ferguson, Theo, Parham

Looks pretty good for a rb/rb. Seems like you got a lot of good wr value

Would take 3 QBs with this Lu though

Since the burrow/Chase/Tee stack is so easy to get (I think I have it in over 50% of my Chase lus), is there value in avoiding stacking it since the ownership on if is probably super high?

Would it be better to single stack one of the top WRs and then grab 1-2 of iosivas/burton/all/gesicki/c brown instead and grab Kirk or whoever is available around the Higgins slot or grab JJ /ARSB early instead of Chase (i mostly just draft rd1 by ADP, so I don’t really do this) and Higgins in his slot and stack

That just depends on your diversification risk tolerance. If you have conviction that Burrow/Chase/Tee is one of the stacks you could need, I don't have any issue leaning into it. Especially with the uncertainty of roles of all of the other options.

With that said, I would try your best to diversify the players you're drafting with the Burrow/Chase/Tee stacks. Make sure you're not always taking the same guys on those teams in rounds 2, 3, 5, and so on.

This is actually my last one for a while haha

I wish I had 1 more te and maybe 1 more qb but otherwise I like it

Dk Milly (#40)

Qb - AR, Levis

Rb - Bijan, Swift, Corum, Lloyd, Davis, Bigsby, Estime

Wr - London, Nabers, DJM, Godwin, Addison, Lockett, Downs, Thielen, Pop Douglas

Te - Bowers, Chig

I'm cracking up that someone built a coachspeak index -- awesome idea. But why does brother Harbaugh have any data points if their model only goes back 6 years (/rant)

I just built two round 10 and earlier heavy RB teams, and actually slightly ****ed up the first one. I rarely go 4 RBs, even when I draft robust.

Deshaun, Maye, McCarthy

JT, Jacobs, Warren, Spears

JJ, DJM, Kirk, Hopkins, Jeudy, Gabe, Roman, Burton, Baker

Engram, Njoku

Meant to take 5 RBs and 8 WRs, but then got lost on trying to fix QB, so took Baker in the 16th as my 9th WR thinking Maye. Realized my regret as soon as I made the click. It could still work.

Rodgers, Levis, Fields

Breece, Kyren, Warren, Zamir, BRob

London, Kirk, Worthy, Hopkins, Big Mike, Polk, Corley

Muth, Chig, Juwan

I got Juwan in the 18th. I think that's too far considering he was going in the 15th. There's a decent chance he's ready by week 1.

As rb heavy teams go, that looks pretty solid

I would've taken Pittman over Nabers or DJM to go with AR.

Haha, he made an exception for Jim and went back and read transcripts from the Niner days.

His account is legit and is one of the best follows on Twitter. Obviously, he has some bias in the reliability ratings, but the guy puts in the work and my perception is that he's pretty sharp. I can't remember when I started following, but it was at some point last season.

He watches and cuts a ton of presser clips.

He did a 2 hour pod with Pat Kerrane last week. It's worth a listen. He talks about his process, plus quite a few players and coaches so far this off-season.

I should’ve set it up better since I knew I had Nabers when I drafted DJM, but at that point I wasn’t sure what QBs would be available, but fair point

I have a leak, in that I cannot stop drafting Nabers across all forms of ff haha. I have him nearly 40% in best ball, I have him in dynasty, and I’ll probably take him in all my redraft LGs if available haha
