2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

I should’ve set it up better since I knew I had Nabers when I drafted DJM, but at that point I wasn’t sure what QBs would be available, but fair point

I have a leak, in that I cannot stop drafting Nabers across all forms of ff haha. I have him nearly 40% in best ball, I have him in dynasty, and I’ll probably take him in all my redraft LGs if available haha

I’m a Giants fan and I have like 1 nabers. I don’t trust their offense to take a Giant that high.

I'm pretty into Nabers. Clearly the best WR on his team. A high level prospect that has a big YAC ability. Daboll as a pretty solid offensive coach. Drew Lock potentially throwing him the ball at the end of the season, which could be better than Dimes for fantasy purposes.

Goes in a group of receivers who could all be the #2 on their team.

The Giants having a meh backfield should help too.

It might look ugly for real life football, but I think he could be big time fantasy player.

I like him as a player . Hopefully our OL is better than last year .

Another DK milly

Qb: Josh, Tua

Rb: Saquon , Swift, Spears , Zeke, Ray Davis , Estime

Wr: Harrison jr , Pittman , Hollywood, Ridley , Wandale, Michael Wilson , Mims, Elijah Moore , Rondale Moore, MVS

Te: Ferguson , Bowers

Pick 8

QB) Herbert, Cousins, Nix

RB) Bijan, Singletary, Ekeler, Elliot, McLaughlin

WR) London, Kupp, Pickens, Ridley, McConkey, Coleman, Corley, Mims

TE) Bowers, J Woods

I regret not getting another TE. I do think Bowers is gonna be elite.

I think Ekeler is going way too late.

Bold move, Cotton.

I don't like the Tua pick un correlated. Another WR or RB at that spot would have been better. Josh is gonna be your guy so you can wait on back up QB.

I love your TE room mostly because I love Bowers. It's a nice duo.

I think Pittman is going to high assuming you got him in the third. I just don't think it's gonna be a high volume passing game. You seem to have too many low upside uninspiring guy's after the Ridley pick in your WR room. Mims could be big. You should have no problem getting some points out of the position.

This is a nice balanced team that could have been better. Just the Tua pick and the blah stable of back end WRs is my only critique.

I don’t force stacks . I just go for the best players . So let’s see if this strategy works out lol .

I like this team except your lack of te depth . But good team overall

I should have grabbed a TE around where I grabbed Corely and Mims.

Thanks!

You don't have to force a stack. Just let the first few rounds determine what direction you might go. Have a pivot plan for if you get sniped.

Tua Un stacked is just not doing much for you even though he may have met your best player criteria at the time. He's certainly not gonna create points with his legs. In week 17 if Tua goes off it's probably gonna be more beneficial to the teams that have Tyreek, Waddle, Achane and Mostert. I'd much prefer wait a couple rounds and grab a second QB who you can build players around. Maybe their game goes off giving you another stack dart throw in case the Josh stack falls flat.

Tua Un stacked is just not doing much for you even though he may have met your best player criteria at the time. If Tua goes off he is bringing several players with him. Unfortunately for you other teams are reaping the benefits.

I don’t mind stacking if it comes naturally . But id rather get the best players possible . Like I said it may be a leak . But only one way to find out lol.

It’s one thing to not believe the data that correlating w17 is effective, it’s completely wild to ignore the plethora of data on stacking… but to each their own…

Correlation: 16/18 w17 correlated, 16/18 team correlated.

Kyler, Maye, McCarthy

Kyren, A Jones, Singletary, Lloyd, Vidal

Puka, MHj, Reed, Addison, AD Mitchell, Roman, DeMario, Hyatt

McBride, Muth

With Rachee Rice's looming suspension how far should we be dropping him down in a dynasty startup? I'm looking at the following WR options in PPR:

rachee rice
davante adams
deebo
jayden reed

I'm leaning Rice over those other 3 despite being in win now mode due to league settings.

If your in win now mode I’d prolly take Davante Adams .

I wouldn't knock his value at all in a dynasty startup. I'd take Rice over those 3, even being win now. If he's suspended, my guess is 4-6 games at the beginning of the season. So you should be able to ride it between yours players hopefully starting the season healthy and not many byes to worry about.

I'll probably fade him in redraft, depending on how long the suspension is.

I've been taking him in best ball as my 4th or 5th WR in the 7th and 8th rounds.

In best ball I’ve been hoping he would start falling to the 10th. It’s hard to gauge when we don’t know how long he will be suspended for .

He’ll dip some if a suspension is officially announced, but he’s gradually moving towards the top of the 7th, and sometimes into the 6th. He bottomed out in the mid 8th, and sometimes into the early/mid 9th. My cheapest share is around 100. I doubt he ever makes it to the 10th.

I won’t take him as my 3rd receiver but feel fine if he’s 4th or later.

Love his upside . And obviously if you draft him and you make the playoffs your in a great spot .

Happy with this one although I might have waited a little long to get a RB. Took McBride at 41. Maybe I take my RB there and then draft Michael Wilson late if I'm not able to get McBride in the 5th. Although it worked out this time because someone took Wilson like 25 spots ahead of his ADP.

QB - Murray, Tua, Geno

RB - Pollard, Singletary, Kendre, Ray Davis, Herbert, Guerendo

WR - Harrison Jr., Waddle, Metcalf, Kirk, Rice, Palmer, Robinson, McMilian, Malik

TE - McBride, Jonnu

Does DK update ADP?

I'm still showing Zeke at 128.7, but have been seeing him go between 105-115 more often.

I like this team . Don’t think you needed Geno but great team nonetheless

I would have like to have snagged Goff but he went a couple ahead of my pick. The ARSB team had Josh Allen and Richardson so I thought I could push him around. He didn't take him, unfortunately the team two ahead of me grabbed him unstacked. I think I could have gone two QBs but adding Fields gives me upside and completed a nice stack with Pickens and Najee.

QB) Caleb, Stafford, Fields

RB) Gibbs, Najee, Benson, Ekeler, Allgeier, Irving.

WR) Puca, Pickens, Allen, Odunze, Samuel, Legette, Dortch.

TE) Laporta, Conklin

This team is really good.

I think your RB room is gonna have several guy's who surpass their ADP, It may not look robust right now but I like it especially given you're strong at every other position. It's very thin but hopefully your upside guy's come through sooner than later.

I think passing on Geno and throwing another dart at RB would be better. I realize You were going for the Metcalf correlation but I would have passed on it. Murray and Tua is strong.
