If I were Joe Biden in this moment I would set up a doctor appointment to tell him he is no longer fit to be President and I would step down now.

Letting the country see Kamala as President for 5 months would be an incredible opportunity for her to do some things that Joe hasn't been able to do. Like address abortion from a woman's perspective. Also it would be amazing if she dropped the China tariff's (especially on electric cars) and we could watch inflation drop to well below zero during her months of presidency.

I'm not joking, by the way. That ticket or something like it wins 40 states. Why do only Republicans get to run movie stars and celebrities? Those types have way higher approval ratings than any politician...

When I was a kid, there was a high profile college basketball player named Derrick Chievous. He was known as the Band-Aid Man because he always wore a band-aid on a different of his body to cover up an imaginary cut or scrape.

Trump worshipers should do the same thing. They should sometimes cover an eye with a bandage, sometimes cover their nose, sometimes put an arm in a sling, etc.

If Democrats really felt that they had to win the election at all costs; to "preserve American democracy" and all that, they'd just ship $1B under the table to, say, Denzel Washington.

You really think Denzel wouldn't beat Donald?

I hear people advocate for Tom Hanks, and he'd probably win too, but he's one of the premier Hollywood Sickos/QAnon enemies for some reason or another. Denzel is not, and also seems to be genuinely religious, which

Plus, Denzel has some prior experience with this sort of thing.

i dont either in a vacuum. but i think she's gotta be the play in the current situation, like rococo said. plus there is some questions with if the nominee isn't kamala will biden/harris release the 240 million in funds. if they don't, which i dont think they have to/nor can anyone use it otherwise, and you're skipping over harris then it has to be for pritzker on the condition he self funds.

Is there a rule in Democrat Land which states their nominee has to be a politician?? Seriously. JB Pritzker... or MATT DAMON. Surely one of these actors can be sufficiently bribed. OK, I'll stop.

unfortunately democrats have to actually govern. republicans don't do that. this country basically all hinges on the adults getting into office every other time to make sure the lights stay on while the children rage about minorities and bathrooms and stuff.

Either the goal is to beat Trump at any cost or it isn't, can't have it both ways. If it is, you run the candidate who has the best chance of winning, whether he or she is qualified or not.

If you don't win, you don't get to govern ****, and most people vote on popularity/likeability, not presumed governing competence. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Republicans understand this. Democrats think this is some high-minded West Wing ****.

Also, Denzel seems like a sharp enough guy, get him a decent Cabinet and he'd be fine.

sure. but i dont think you are going to convince me that that involves bringing in a random celebrity puppet out of the blue..

personally i think what hurts dems is chaos. i think there is too much chaos right now because too many higher ups have brought out the knives. there's no way i see us getting back together to rally for biden. so i think the dems just lose badly with him and he has to go. but i also don't think it's a great idea to do a brokered convention or something like that which will introduce more chaos.

i'm of the opinion that the best way to beat trump is for a peaceful hand off to Harris and then everyone can rally behind her because the "age problem" is solved. she can essentially just run a mini campaign on Biden's record. which if you are honest is probably one of the greatest presidential records of our lifetimes.

i do not think that MORE knives coming out in various directions is the solution.

You don't think the Republicans have been split in trump? Cmon man.

Not 3 months before the election, no.

I still think Hakeem Jeffries would be a great choice. jmho

say it's Newsom. if biden/harris don't release the funds, what happens to them? the money forever sits there in limbo?

if kamala she keeps it

if anyone else - it gets refunded

the funding thing is so silly imo. newsom starting with $0 tonight would have $100m by the end of the week and $300m by the end of next

yeah, this

OK, how about george clooney?

i dont have a nyt sub, so if you do im sure the article rickroll explains it better.. but from what i understand if it's not biden/harris then one/both of them has to choose to release it to the DNC(not an individual candidate) or they could convert it to a PAC. but that's way less efficient because PACs "cant" communicate with campaigns, even though they obviously break that rule all the time.

but those things require biden/harris to agree.. if they both feel betrayed and they dont want to release those funds than i dont think there is anyway to force them too. they could form a "leadership PAC" where they want to support future elections and then just not help the current nominee or they could simply start the process of returning the donations which would run out the clock.

Clooney & Denzel seem like the best options floated so far. Denzel edges it for me coz he's an end boss tho. Out of my top 10 favourite movie performances or quotes/lines, he probably takes at least half the spots. Seems like a smart enough chap from the interviews I've seen with him as well.

by d2_e4 P

I'll bet he does.

At least they don't appear to be kicking Kamala out the door to bring in boy next door newsome - that would cause a division id imagine.

I'm sure Hillary would love to see Kamala breeze in and take down Trump to become the first woman prez.

Give us The Rock.

On the Clooney plus side, he looks like a villain hatching a plan for world domination just standing around sipping a Nespresso.
