idk. i think this was the least chaotic decision. it will be interesting to see the law with regards to the delegates that are already pledged to Biden/Harris. there is some thought that without biden and with Harris running w/ endorsement that those delegates wouldn't be released but

yeah, basically all this

ppl that understand the inner workings much better than anyone itt (staff, money, legal, etc.) kept saying that Harris was the only option, being that August is right around the corner

by StoppedRainingMen P

The calls by Dems for biden to resign immediately if he isn’t going to run for president is absolutely ****ing wild

Wtf is happening lol

Just like inventing that Obama was too close to the end of his presidency to name new supreme court justices etc the shameless hawking just never ends

Trump was basically the same price to win before and after Biden dropping out. It was an inevitable thing that would happen at some point, the only question being how quickly the Dems acted to minimise the damage to their campaign. It was priced in. I mean I'm sorry for the hard left here (for which there are plenty) that they took way, way too long to do anything, but clarksonohnoanyway.gif

Right, the betting markets didn't move in 27 minutes, so it's all over now. No need to even hold the election, really

by StoppedRainingMen P

The fact that trump is now the oldest presidential candidate in American history is objectively hilarious

LOL, I hadn't thought of this.

I can think of a poster or two who claimed they don't want Trump, but were forced to hope for him against Biden - they must be excited about this development!

Goddam Dems are totally delusional, putting this corpse out for election. If only they had any sense, they would make him drop out!

Biden drops out

LOL dems- weak spineless cowards! Thought y’all loved Uncle JOE. Can’t take you serious now that you backpedaled.

I'm on team anyone but Trump. Interesting times.

i think you just need to see what can be unburdened by what has been, man.

lastly, Harris shouldn't debate Trump.

Agreed, trump ended the career of the last guy he debated. That guy’s party came together to force him off the ticket.

I have a hard time believing anyone but Harris will be the nominee even if they should be. A divided convention is the absolute worst case scenario for the Dems.

With that said, there is that story from this morning that donors were furious with Harris with their meeting with her

Lol idk

and it will be highlighted over and over and over again these last several months leading into early November

he is obese and unhealthy (and doesn't exercise)

he is showing signs of serious cognitive decline (he won't release his medical records or have an unbiased doctor do a physical and mental exam w the results being released to the American public)

yeah, the elephant in the room is now the old, fat, senile guy wearing a red tie and an oversized red hat blabbering on and on about conspiracy theories and an election he lost nearly 4 yrs ago

Based on Betfair odds Kamala has been seen as a much, much stronger candidate than Biden pretty much since the debate. When I last calculated it ~10 days ago she was an implied ~38% to win the election vs Biden's 25% so while it was partially priced in to Trump's odds already they did actually swing a noticeable amount when the announcement happened (~1.55 to ~1.63 in Euro odds on Betfair, which equates to ~65% chance to ~61%).

Harris would wipe her ass w Trump in a debate

but since Trump isn't a serious person, just skip it (the nation doesn't want to see him in another debate. whatwith the dozens of lies and all)

Feeling pretty unburdened atm tbh

Trump has far less to gain from debating Harris than harris does by debating trump so I would imagine he declines to refuse to legitimize her and refuse to debate someone 20 years younger to him when cognitive function was a serious talking point on biden and he’s now the oldass

It does call to question that this was always going to be a possibility considering biden insisted on a debate before the conventions which has, as far as I know, never happened before. Seems like there was always the possibility for an exit strategy being needed

weren't they furious w her bc she still had to pretend to be backing JOE?

KHive.

its time we came together to help chilary hotrod clinteastwood take Her rightful throne

down to 3.0%, but not out of it

I haven’t seen anyone post about this yet.

Now that the cat is out of the bag…should Biden step down now?

Still 7 more months…if he truly endorses Harris the answer to me is yes.

@Sklansky

the Dems just washed their hands of why they're running out an elderly candidate with visible cognitive decline at the top of the ticket

like a hot potato, those questions just landed on MAGA's lap for the next 107 days

every day they will face this question. 107 days

Yah but look who the other side used to have.

Real talk though - Rs wont care when it’s their guy. Simple as that.

Biden stepping down as President would be utterly insane, both logistically and from a political standpoint. The implication that because he's not going to run for a job that would be for another 4 years means he's incapable now and should resign is a ridiculous and obviously falacious argument (even if it was true it wouldn't change the fact that it is an objectively terrible argument).

lol @ thinking republicans will face and/or answer any hard questions, especially about age.

has anybody been paying attention?

the wildest thing about a standing president withdrawing months before an election just days after defiantly stating he was not going to drop out is that a newsmax reporter of all media outlets got the scoop first

that's terrifying

If he’s unfit to beat Trump..he’s unfit to be in the most powerful position in the world.

Oh now it’s Biden running the show? Not the person behind the curtain? If Biden is gone all hell breaks loose?

The best way Joe Biden can endorse Harris is to hand over the reigns today.

There's not much I have a hard time believing any more when it comes to US politics. :p That said, I agree it's by far the most likely outcome.
