Most Dem candidates need some national recognition. A debate gives them that. I don't think Trump debates anyone now.
Biden basically set the terms for the last debate. If Trump was going to go ahead and debate someone else, he's probably the one that will set the terms.
He's not able to beat Trump when trying to get a job that will last another 4 years. If the job was simply "can he beat Trump in 4 months?" then the argument would have merit but it's not so it doesn't.
The rest of the post is completely tangential to the validity of that argument. Regardless of whether or not Biden is actually in charge of anything having a sitting president resign this close to an election would be chaos in terms of the media circus it would cause, even if it did have little to no effect on the actual running of the country.
The terms are irrelevant. He’s ahead now, so he won’t risk it. Same as the primary.
Your posts read like confirmation bias from someone who wants Trump to win and wants to downplay the impact of the recent news.
Not sure if it's for political reasons or $ (I remember you posting that you bet on Trump in 2020), but I can't imagine being as confident as you for the R or D side at the moment. Gotta give the markets more than an hour to catch up, see how things develop, etc.
They did not get the scoop
They simply posted a pretty reasonable guess that he would drop out.
Their 'scoop' said he wouldn't endorse Harris.
Got lucky with the timing of their guess and that's it. I wouldn't even say it was lucky. It seemed quite likely Biden was on his last legs.
With everything you’ve seen with your own eyes the past couple months…you don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility, that he’s unfit to finish out the remainder of his term?
but independents will. suburban moms in WI, MI, PA and NV will
Trump/Vance is a historically awful ticket
Trump was 0-for-2 this week in his most important moments at the RNC
- picking Vance as VP (of the three he had it down to, Rubio was obv the best strategic decision)
- his acceptance speech (just survived an attempt on his life so ppl wanted to see how that changed him **anyone w a brain knew it wouldn't change him**, "Unity" claimed to be the theme leading into the RNC... but he just can't help himself. he's an awful political candidate w terrible favorable numbers and terrible political instincts who will never understand the importance of bringing ppl into your political tent)
guys, sometimes genocide just isnt worth it.
Weirdly, I can remember LBJ declining to run in 1968. That was the end of March. In June, Senator Robert Kennedy was assassinated. Vice-President Humphrey ran for the Democrats. The Republicans won, obviously.
Looking some more at the odds on Betfair, they imply basically everyone who's vaguely in the discussion has a much better chance at winning the election if they were the nominee than Kamala does (Michelle Obama's implied odds are better than 50% to win if nominee).
I'd take all of this with a grain of salt though because I'm pretty sure they're nowhere close to a balanced market, let alone anywhere close to being accurate, even with a significant amount of money being traded.
it's a joke
Rs basically stood by during the last 12-18 months of Reagan when the White House became a memory care unit at an assisted living facility
Biden is no where as gone as Reagan was. not even on the same planet
but yes, Biden is showing concerning cognitive decline. that much is obv
I assumed that to be the case but who knows
My point was specifically about the argument that because he's not running for reelection he should step down as president for the rest of this term because that is an objectively terrible argument. I've made exactly zero comment as to whether he's actually unfit to finish the term and don't really intend to.

Biden was fit to beat trump for the next 4 years from 2021 to end 2024 not from 2025 to 2028 …
Nothing changed lol .
Hard to grasp but 2025-2028 is not the same year as 2024 .
Mike Johnson calling this undemocratic is all I needed to know republicans are scared to death of this
Yup how graceful they are compare to Biden ….
Can’t even wait a day lol .

Was Reagan at Biden's level of decline when running for re-election? I really dont know. Anyways, I think the problem was Biden is behind and due to his decline cant run an effective campaign to give himself a chance to win.
If we had 8 year terms, and Biden just had to last 4 more years with whoever is really running things in the background continuing to do so, I dont think there would be any serious movement to remove him from office.
Okay..so the earliest Biden can be unfit to hold the most powerful position in the world is Jan/1st/2025….not today. Got it! Makes a ton of sense!
Your argument might hold more weight if you didn't want to a demented orange moron to assume that position.
VP George Clooney and this is a wrap imo
Taking your logic yes that makes a lot of sense lol …..
Remember we are using your argument if he can’t win the next 4 years he can’t run the country:p
I just reminded you 2024 isn’t part of the next election race he dropped off shrug
I don’t live in a world of hypotheticals.
He’s not pulling out because he’s a young man and wants to pursue a new life of building EV’s and rockets like Elon.
He’s self admittedly pulling out because of his own decline.
You guys like to debate just to debate.
My point is valid. He endorses Harris. He thinks she would be a good president. The line of succession is in the constitution. He can resign and Harris can finish out the rest of his term. That sounds like an endorsement to me!
I mean, I hope you’re right. My faith in people is at an all time low though. Kinda feel like a lot of people just like to make fun of Biden or used it as an excuse to justify their Trump love.
