What's the deal with sandwiches?
Eggs had their day in the sun, and cereal already made it's splash. Now it's time to celebrate an old standby, the sandwich!
I'll get things started with a classic - the ham, turkey, and salami on wheat.
And a pork cutlet torta.
Took me a while to come around to the idea of a meatless sammy, but these are delicious. Marinated, grilled portabellas with pesto spread. Made sure the cheese was perfectly melted just for 27
I lied and actually couldn't do it without at least a little meat, so I fried some prosciutto til crispy and threw it on there too

There's always lot grill cheeses, no?
Are they still playing the same song as when you left last night?
and ganja goo balls for dessert.
I don’t **** with ganja goo balls. I just don’t trust the hippies enough. I’ll buy a grilled cheese from them, but all set on the goo balls.
Pastrami at Katz Deli in NYC. Lived up to the hype. Everything else I tried (corned beef, matzo ball soup, potato salad) was meh. But this pastrami was the best I’ve ever had.
Oofa.
yeah that's fire.
Bacon egg and cheese on an everything egg bagel from Leon’s Bagels in Greenwich Village, the very best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had and it’s not close.
Nothing quite like a New York Bagel!
It’s all in the water. That’s the secret sauce.
What time of day, day of the week did you go? How long was the wait, what was the damage? I haven’t been in nearly 20 years and went late at night, on a weekday. You hear horror stories about the wait. Thinking maybe other spots might be a better play.
We probably got in line about 4pm on Friday, we were dumb (my mistake) and did the sit down and get served instead of self serve and waited probably 40 minutes before sitting down. Had we done self serve would have been prob 10 min faster
My buddy who lives in Brooklyn says 2nd Ave deli is better, but I had to do this and have no regrets…but I would say, buy nothing here except for pastrami
those ratios are golden
and hot buttered corn for a buck was still a think last time i saw phish
The Matt Cain from Ike’s, a California based chain. Roast Beef, Salami, Turkey, Godfather Sauce, Provolone, Pickles, Jalas, Red Onion, Lettuce, on Dutch Crunch. Hits pretty good for a pitcher.
I don't know what Godfather Sauce is, but i Want to try some.
Bread looks great
quick googling = someone said this: it tastes like extra garlicky creamy caesar dressing. Absolutely delicious!
Streets of New York #7 Best of Everything:
seems unique to serve fries alongside a hero
does look like a tasty sandwich if it was moist enough
