2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

He'll be 36 in November, and 2 teams have disposed of him in the last 3 years. And then Pit signed him for the league minimum. That's not a good sign for a QB with his career pedigree.
The best argument for Russ making it all the way through the season is that Fields may just suck worse.

No way to name drafts .
Russ can still chuck the ball. He's lost his elite ability to extend the play. This is what made him an elite QB. This makes him now just an average QB at best within a system that limits his mistakes. He holds on to the ball too long just like Fields does. He can still bring a team back from behind on occasion but will also break your heart with an untimely fumble or interception. He will wear his welcome out in Pitt with his fake personality. He should be able to lead this team to wins but it will be ugly too watch. Fans will soon be screaming for Fields. I do think they will find a way to utilize Fields. I suspect that neither will be back next year. I am rooting for Fields to maybe be able to fix his issues but that doesn't look promising this far into his career.

I didn't know you could name teams on UD.
If I could name my names on DK they'd be, Sunk Cost 1, Sunk Cost 2, Sunk Cost 3....
You took Metcalf in the 2nd ? Your wrs are a tad weak but overall this team is really strong
Metcalf goes around pick 26 on UD. I took him on the 2/3 turn. He's not as appealing on a PPR site. He does have 10 TD potential in this new offense. I've mixed up my picks in this range. I'm pretty optimistic with the coaching change. The Hawks have perennially ran the fewest plays in the league. Grubbs should speed things up and be more creative. Locket is showing signs of being done. Their offensive line was beat up and horrible last year. It should be better although still not a great unit. He gives me a QB out with Geno later.
I'm good at rationalizing picks even though this is not a fist pump situation.

Your quite thin at WR after Flowers but you have a lot of darts out there. How did you get that many receivers and nobody to stack with Herbert?
The rest of the team looks great although I'm not stoned right now so it's hard to tell.

Definitely. The extra 2 rounds gives you so much more flexibility. I’d probably be happy with that WR group on UD but felt a little light for DK.
I like to name my teams with the date the draft was completed, my draft position, the structure, and whether it was a slow or fast draft. This is mainly for easy analysis as I scroll through my teams throughout the season.

I don't play best ball at all due to geography but wondering if you guys play on sites other than underdog. So kind of like online poker, are there better edges on different sites like let's say Yahoo or something or is everyone solid now?

DK is apparently much softer than UD.
From the rosters I've seen in my drafts I'd say there's still a significant edge.

UD and DK are the primary sites I play, and DK definitely seems softer. But the softness can be both good and bad. You may have a better advance rate, but once you get to the playoffs, there are likely to be more super teams.
Drafters is another site. They only offer cumulative scoring contests from w1-17. I fired some, but I’m not a fan of that structure compared to the playoff advancing style.
There are a few others I’ve seen YouTube streamers playing like FFPC.
