I informed you that crypto mining involves overwhelmingly massive energy expenditures. I remember a few years back, some crypto grifters started promising that energy use for crypto was about to decrease dramatically. SOMEHOW, that didn't happen...
I believe I also told you that it had little-to-no effective use for all the working-class people or anybody else who can't afford to speculate on it for indeterminate periods of time. It's a useless "currency" for buying groceries, paying taxes, or basically all of the day-to-day things people do to survive. It's much more useful for buying, say, hitmen on the internet to murder your wife, like your boy Ross was up to.

You are correct. There's a few 'TrumpCoins'. The latest being DJT, allegedly created by superstars Martin Shrekli and Barron Trump.
But yes they are all shitcoins. Ignore that noise. Bitcoin only.
i'm by no means an economics guy.. but i feel like the world economic collapse/hyperinflation needed to make that gold useful instead of US dollars also isn't going to provide the environment for bitcoin that people think it will..
besides in that situation what do the cryptobros think they will be exchanging that bitcoin for? gold?
like there might be a use case for some smaller countries that deal with hyperinflation to hold some bitcoin if they want to speculate a bit, but the US having it just seems superfluous.
The US used to have a gold backed currency. Don't think they've actually added to the reserves in 50 years.
Under the Bretton Woods system post-WW2, the US used to maintain about 20,000 tonnes of gold reserves. Since that system fell apart by 1971, partly due to the costs of the Vietnam War, it's gone down to just over 8,000 tonnes. But gold is a real thing and you never know when it might be useful.

I didn't claim that "ONLY" hitmen and child molesters use crypto (although them, along with pyramid scheme type grifters, do indeed comprise a large amount of the crypto base).
I have claimed that crypto is of little use (and will remain that way) to working-class people (i.e., the majority of humans) in terms of the activities they undertake on a day-to-day basis. Instead, crypto is a speculative asset for the ownership class and wannabe grifters.
