2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

like fields as well. high upside flyer often available last round

newguy, whats your view on dolphins backfield usage this year?

Probably close to an even split between Mostert and Achane. Could see them riding Mostert a bit more in the beginning.

Wright is an interesting wild card but I can't see him getting more than 5% of carries unless Mostert or Achane get injured, which is certainly a possibility.

One of the biggest missteps in play calling last year was how little they ran the ball on 3rd and short. They only had 9 attempts between them on 3rd & 1-3, with Mostert at 7 and Achane at 2.

So I do expect/hope that changes this season.

By comparison, CMC had 14 attempts on 3rd & 1-3.

My man has 4 QBs and 2 WRs through the first 12 rounds. After Swift, he went Goff, Jayden, Tua, Schultz.

Glad I grabbed Mahomes because QB was brutal in this one.

QB - Mahomes, Rodgers, Minshew

RB - Rhamondre, Warren, Spears, Benson, Mitchell, Dillon

WR - Wilson, Adams, DJM, Hollywood, Worthy, Mooney, McMillan, Reynolds

TE - Goedert, Kmet, Jonnu

Re: Fields

Return role.

Oh, and Kupp is still Kupp.

Yeah, Wright seems almost all contingent with little standalone value. But he probably has the highest upside of anyone going in his draft range except maybe Allgeier.

Mike and Frank both seem pretty into him.

Worst wr room I’ve drafted, but maybe there’s upside. Also got sniped on Juwan, which made me take dulcich bc I waited too long on te2

Qb - Lamar, Baker

Rb - CMC, R White, Zeke, Lloyd, B Allen

Wr - Smith, Nabers, Btjr, Palmer, Shaheed, Meyers, Legette, McMillan, Tez Walker

Te - Andrews, Dulcich

I think 5 rookie WRs is a tough ask.

2023 winner had 0 rookie WRs

2022 had 2 rookie WRs

Is that Zamir or Rachaad at RB?

Sorry Rachaad, he fell to 72 and I basically had a choice between him or Jsn/Keon, felt like I had to take him even though it’s not great structurally

Just fwiw, I don’t think looking at exactly the winner is the right strategy. You should look at the top 1% finishers, or even the top 1% ev teams. That doesn’t mean you’re wrong on this particular topic, I have no clue, but Tank, Puka, and Addison last year all easily could’ve been lg winners (Tank if he didn’t get hurt obv) and that was considered a weak wr class

Makes sense. Probably only other place you could've grabbed a better WR was over Andrews which is tough when you have Lamar, or maybe fade Lamar and wait on QB.

Wtf is going on here… he just took stroud in the 4th lmao

He wanted to lock in his stack lol .

People are starting to realize they are low on Prescott and sniping the Lamb owner. It used to be a no brainer he would be there in the early ninth but no more.

He goes in the 6th- 7th on Dk. He used to go in the 8th early on .

Not all red badges are created equally.

Ended up with a solid squad in the contest with the 2nd rd Dak guy lol (will it be voided?)

Been noticing that McMillan, M Wilson, and Boyd are shooting up boards. In this draft McMillan and Boyd went 20 picks before ADP and Wilson went 12 before

Qb - Kyler, Tlaw

Rb - CMC, Swift, Pollard, Lloyd, Chandler

Wr - Aiyuk, Kupp, Kirk, Btjr, Polk, D Rob, Dortch, Iosivas, Franklin

Te - McBride, Fant

Na that shouldn’t be voided. It’s the rooms where a drafter takes multiple guys that are typically undrafted in the early rounds.

Boyd is a dumb player to shoot up. McMillan and Wilson are justified. I’ve been pulling both up. I need more Wilson.

That’s a well rounded team.

I don't draft him as much as I was in the beginning but I really like Boyd. He's a proven solid WR3
I definitely need more McMilan and I'm at 18% Wilson so I'm good there.

3 guys that I really want to get up to at least 15% are Mahomes, Hurts, and Walker III.

Just saw that Jonathan Brooks won’t be ready til week 3 or 4.

Meh, the only reason Boyd is shooting up is because of the Hopkins FUD. If Hopkins is truly not the same or misses more time than we all expect, that entire offense will suffer.

If Hopkins is fine, then Boyd could be the 5th target on the offense given they have 2 RBs who are very good at catching passes. I have some Boyd, but it's primarily only with Levis or on Jags bring backs.

There was some decent news on Hopkins earlier.

1st and 2nd year players are generally the key. Now, this could be some causation without correlation due to other variables, but it's no secret these players generally improve as the season goes on.

I think that WR room can work. Three first round WRs, all with plenty of opportunity, with one being uber elite. A 3rd round rookie WR being steamed by his coaches. And then a deep threat on an offense that sorely needs it.

And then Smith, Palmer, Shaheed, and Meyers all have locked in roles.

Just saw that Jonathan Brooks won’t be ready til week 3 or 4.

It was always assumed he would start slow. Even if he ended up being out there for week 1, I assumed that probably meant 8-10 touches max. Week 3 or 4 isn't a huge surprise. I just try to build my rooms around Brooks with guys who I know will be out there from the start. He's nice as your second RB selected or even if he's your first, pair him with guys like BRob, Singletary, Ekeler, Zeke, etc.

I have a couple of Brooks/Chuba teams too, where I was looking at the room and didn't think I had enough early season production by the time I got to Chuba's draft range, so added Chuba for some floor.

It's unlikely that Brooks ends up being anywhere near the player of Gurley, but this is interesting.

Hurts was already taken and Allen fell 7 spots, so I took him over Mahomes in this one.

QB - Allen, Caleb

RB - ETN, Walker, Dobbins, Chuba, Pierce, Braelon

WR - AJB, Olave, Terry, Odunze, Samuel, Pearsall, Zay, Kalif, Tez

TE - Bowers, Kmet, Knox

Hot damn, just scooped an awesome Lamar fall in a slow puppy.

Got him at 59 after starting Wilson, Drake, Tank, Flowers.

I'm playing fantasy football first time ever. got a couple questions, probably really stupid lol...

bench players produce 0 points right? you have to put them in the starting line up to get points?

flex spot you just want whoever gives you the most points, which is usually a WR, right?

12 team league, 15 man teams... is it standard to draft back up QB? back up TE?

hope the noob questions are ok. thanks!

Correct

Yes whoever scores the most. It depends on your scoring system and starting structure though whether wrs will be best for flex

12 team league, 15 man t
