2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Mega w17 stack with Det/SF. Probably went a little overboard with both TEs, but went for it in a Puppy. RB needs some help lol.

Purdy, Herbert

Brooks, Singletary, Zeke, Davis, Gibson, Shipley, Bigsby

ARSB, Deebo, Aiyuk, Worthy, Ladd, Dortch, Wan'Dale

LaPorta, Kittle

Accidentally auto'd Purdy in the 9th, but probably not much difference between backs there and Singletary since I had planned to take RB in the 9th and Purdy in the 10th. Maybe taking RB in both the 9th and 10th and forcing Purdy to come back or Goff in the 11th would have been better .

Solid team

After over 350 total drafts I just drafted my first RB/RB start haha

Qb - Goff, Geno, Darnold

Rb - Breece, Gibbs, Spears, Chandler, Mitchell

Wr - DK, Rice, Keenan, Jamo, Addison, Nuk, McMillan, Melton

Te - Pitts, Fant

That’s a solid team. I don’t do RB/RB much, but it’s fun to change things up.

I have my fair share of RB/RB, but have definitely favored going hero or zero RB.

I do think 1/350 is pretty low exposure to a strategy that can still work. It just won BBM in 2022.

I wish I could see exactly how many drafts I've gone RB/RB to start. Personally I'd like to be around 15%-20%

I didn’t play best ball in 2022, but my understanding is that you were punished far less at wr back then if you went rb/rb. I get that it can work, but I think it is far inferior of a strategy which is why I’ve avoided it.

I also am very in on elite qb/elite te given the prices of those players and you can’t to both in an rb/rb build so that’s prevented me from doing it as well

This is very true

RB/RB is quite a bit more viable on DK than UD.

Elite QBs aren’t nearly as valuable. WRs on the whole are cheaper.

3 pick 12’s in a row in the puppy lmao, brutal

This is new on DK if you're in multiple drafts

I just noticed that going through my slows. Game changer for those.

Just got sniped on Jayden in round 9 as someone’s third QB, all unstacked.

AR, Burrow, Daniels

CD, Malik, Evans, Rice, Amari, BTJ

Nice start there, buddy.

The streets are fun, though! The 20 second clocks are great.

The DK QB hounds have arrived. Just finished a QB room of Geno, Fields and AOC. lol

Somebody explain to me why we are entering BBM's when the odds are astronomically low that we will be advancing to the finals? The 2/10 1/13 1/16 structure is ridiculous. I was gonna do a bunch of BBM's after the second pre season games but now I'm rethinking it. I'd rather play in a contest like the Flock Community where it is 1/12 1/2 1/2. At least I have a decent chance to get there. The Puppy 2/10 1/10 1/10 is at least reasonable.

From 1.07

QB - Murray, Geno, Nix

RB - Bijane, Javonte, Ford, Zeke, Roschon, Davis

WR - MHJ, Devonta, Terry, Reed, JSN, Quentin, Demario, Franklin, Atwell

TE - McBride, Schultz

Because winning $1MM sounds way cooler than winning something less lol

Honestly my biggest mistake is entering so many of the DK Milly's. If I don't win big this season then next year I'm definitely focusing on the smaller buy-ins and will probably do 10-20 max of the Milly.

1.5 million dollars.

But I’m with you. I prefer to play the smaller contests with better advance rates but less $ upside.

jesus I've entered 134 of the Milly

Might as well max it now. At least that one is projected for overlay.

I'm at 8 BBM's right now. I'll probably get it to 20 to get a little skin in the game.

Just got a start on ud I’ve never seen Bijan + Puka. Lotta pressure to land the plane here

From the 7 spot too

Good luck. I'm not landing planes very well tonight.

It looks perfectly solid to me.

Puppy pick 2.

The big decision point for me was in round 9. I could have taken a solid number two RB but I just couldn't pass on Dak. Is Lamar/Dak over kill? They are both capable of having monster games and also floor games. I could have gone Pollard, Spears, Robinson here instead, then grab somebody like Geno later.

We seem to have more late round RB options. I think Shipley may be my boy. I decided to throw some darts late at a fragile RB room and go with 7. I'm thinking my WR room is just strong enough to go with just 7 although one more dude would make me feel better. This may be more of an argument for passing on Dak so that I didn't feel the need to have 7 RB.

It's important to note that for the first time in a while I didn't make any focus mistakes.

QB) Lamar, Dak

RB) Warren, Dowdle, Corum, Chandler, Allgeier, Mason, Shipley.

WR) Lamb, Nabers, D Smith, J Reed, JSN, Tolbert, Bateman

TE) Andrews, Johnson
