2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

At pick 75. Kittle still on the board, 9-10 spots past ADP.

I have 3 WRs (Reek, Deebo, DJM), and I already have Kincaid.

Take a 4th WR in Diontae or Jamo, or just grab a 2nd TE?

Just grab Kittle and be done at TE

Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m doing, especially if Diontae/Jamo are the alternative.

RB/RB start.

Mahomes, Geno

Breece, Achane, Benson, Charb, Lloyd

Rice, Kirk, JSN, Keon, Addison, Wicks, McMillan, Burton

Njoku, Fant, Sanders

Narrator: He did not grab Kittle

QB - Allen, Caleb

RB - Jones, Chubb, Dowdle, Braelon, Lloyd, Sanders

WR - Reek, Deebo, DJM, Jamo, Samuel, Lockett, AD, McMilan, Roman

TE - Kincaid, Musgrave, Dulcich

My only critique is I wish you had one more rb you could rely on but the rest is really good .

Valid point.

I get stuck on the idea of never going more than 5 if I start RB/RB on UD. But don’t always focus on the profile balance.

Breece and Achane really should be hitting the lineup each week. But probably need one of the other 3 to be a profile like Zeke, Dowdle, McLaughlin, Gibson, etc.

Yeah, think the 2v2 of Jamo/Musgrave versus Kittle/WR elsewhere sides with Kittle. And then the Dulcich pick can be reallocated too.

The problem is that Achane might be more up and down than other RBs you might make this start with. If it was a Breece/JT start I don't mind pushing the third RB as late as possible.

It’s possible. But I think when you take Achane in the mid 2nd, the bet is he will either have a higher weekly floor than last year or his spike weeks will be so good, the floor weeks don’t matter.

Another RB/RB start with Achane, but the room definitely projects better.

From the 1.03

Jayden, Love

CMC, Achane, Dowdle, Charb, Gibson

Olave, Rice, Terry, Watson, Coleman, Polk, Corley, B Rice

Musgrave, Sinnott, Jonnu

I would prefer Najee or Rhamondre over Coleman

That TE room is brutal, but otherwise the team is fine

Don’t think either of those guys have the ceiling like Coleman.

And I think I still need to be chasing WR ceiling at that pick after starting with CMC and Achane.

It’s the all upside with bad projection room haha.

Definitely wish I had a stronger TE1.

Fair enough. Personally I don't think Coleman has much of a ceiling at all. He's been almost a pure fade unless he falls quite a bit.

He’s certainly polarizing. I have 14%. Not because I think he has a great profile or even that he is likely to smash.

But the asymmetric upside of being Josh’s #1 seems like a good high variance bet to make. Especially in best ball.

Oh yeah I am definitely okay with taking him if I have Josh. In fact, I wanted him in my Allen lineup above, but got sniped.

Overall though he's definitely not my least favorite rookie WR going in the first 10 rounds.

Worthy/Odunze
MHJ
BTJr.
Coleman
Ladd
Nabers

From 1.11

Dilemma with the final pick. Chase the rookie upside with Javon Baker or add to the ARI stack with Zay?

QB - Murray, Rodgers, Fields

RB - Rhamondre, Warren, Chubb, Corum, Shipley, Estime

WR - Wilson, MHJ, Pittman, Rice, Mooney, Wandale, Roman, Corley, Baker

TE - McBride, Engram

Don’t believe in Dimes and the Giants? Haha

Baker over Zay seems correct.

I'd rather take the later Giants. Spending 2nd round capital on a guy in a bad offense doesn't seem like the sharp play.

Cool. Having both MHJ and McBride was a big selling point for me.

Fair enough, my strategy has been to be overweight on all of the highly drafted rookies, minus MHJ. They all won’t hit, but I think a few of them will, with big upside possible. This rookie class is so strong, at least on paper haha.

My highest is BTJ at 18%. My lowest is MHJ at 7%. 12% Nabers.

Exactly. And the fact the Jags dumped Zay like they did tells me it’s probably just over for him. Don’t really see any upside.

And I drafted him quite a bit in the pre-draft contests when I thought he’d be returning to the Jags. He still had solid numbers when on the field last season.

Pick 45 in the 4th, with pick 52 around the corner.

Start is Bijan/Achane/DJM

Do you

A. Take Mahomes past ADP and then grab Worthy in the 5th (Rice already gone)?

B. Take Lamar at ADP and then get Andrews in the 5th?

Wr/wr

Then likely Pitts/Kittle if available

Can be convinced to go wr/te/wr too

I'd do A, so B is probably the correct answer. My thinking is if you go B, your WR room is going to be awfully thin.
