2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

This was a weird one couldn’t pass up the wr and rb value so went 4 qb and 4 te

Qb : Rodgers , Geno , Maye , Minshew

Rb: Henry , Zamir , Pollard , Ekeler , Chubb

Wr: Jefferson , Kupp, Flowers, Higgins, Ridley , Kirk , Hollywood

Te: Otton , Fant , Juwan , Bellinger

I see a lot of people sleeping on Kraft who outproduced musgrave in limited action

Took Tracy at RB completely overlooking McMillan.

QB - Mahomes, Baker, Carr

RB - Achane, BRob, Chubb, Davis, Tracy, Steele

WR - AJB, Pickens, Godwin, BTJ, Hollywood, Shaheed, Jeudy, Palmer

TE - Kelce, Dulcich, Sanders

I think Kraft has some upside, but it’s not that exciting since Musgrave completely beat him out for playing time in the games that mattered.

I like Kraft as a late flyer in love stacks if you can’t get musgrave or minny bring backs. Wouldn’t draft him uncorrelated though

Guys like him pop randomly throughout the season in dfs perfect for best ball even in uncorrelated lineups I figure he should produce

And what a weird time in Dk I took two drafts yesterday didn’t know Rashee rice went from 86 adp to 33 *♂️ it’s like where are you getting the edge now on teams that had a chance to draft him late ?

Would earlier in the season be different tournaments so you're not competing directly with them?

No I’m talking about the bigger best ball tournaments especially on DK he’s going second or third round most of the time that’s asinine that you were literally able to get him 6-8 sometime 9th just a week and a half ago

It's potentially great for those teams who drafted Rice at the 86 adp. The reality is that you may never run into them in the playoffs. Even if they end up in one of your playoff pods it doesn't mean their team will be better than yours. They may have dead players from drafting early. You may be able to get better value on other players. You may hit big on the player you pick around the 86 area. Maybe you were able to get Mahomes and they didn't. You still need to get the edge on those teams in your pod. If you think Rice is the best pick you should take him.

This was something that I heard talked about on one of the flock livestreams.

I can see both sides. I was able to find a recent draft of mine in the DK Milly where I got Rice at 40, and an older one where someone got him at 74.

Comparison of the first 10 picks

Recent (Rice at 40)

AJB, Deebo, Mahomes, Rice, Kincaid, Walker, Diontae, Hollywood, Javonte, Singletary

Older (Rice at 74)

Lamb, Olave, Waddle, Mahomes, Hollywood, R. White, Rice, Dak, Bowers, Goedert

They’re about even in terms of value around them but it’s going be stacked lineups you run into with him

I think Emanuel Wilson RB for Green Bay should in last round pick consideration.

Some one those teams I’ve checked on even mines have achane if he pops laporta with rice as a fifth wr those are the teams I’m worried about that didn’t take those players and still ended up mahomes maybe worth rice n even kelce n value

I’m going take him into consideration. I’m usually a dfs player I know great tight ends at 3k-5k in Dk, but I’m not good at selecting value running backs maybe a good call.

With love...this isn't any good.

It looks like you reached on over half your players.

I really did reach because I wanted to see how far the adp went up or down since I’ve last drafted which was two weeks ago. I’m really of the believe coming from dfs as long as I got my main stack I’m fine with doubs naked I believe he’ll pop and be a more consistent scorer than the rest of the packer receivers. I never bought into the believe he was the worst of the bunch or the narrative of rice being suspended . All in all I like cheaper QBs that have time to grow value over the season like dfs, so I tend to lean on skill positions.

I believe around this time you should throw adp to the window we seen rice go from 86 to 33 in a week and a half that shows me it’s a lot of holes in the value of players

It's definitely fine to reach in the later stages, but you're giving up way too much upside when you do it early on.

Taking Hollywood in the 6th when you could've easily had him in the 9th or 10th is -EV.

The only time you should really reach past your current round early on is for a QB when you have a stack going, and there's a chance he could get drafted before your next pick.

Say you have Chase/Higgins stack going. I think it's okay to take Burrow early in the 6th because he could be off the board by the time you pick again in the 7th.

I mean I gave an example of rice adp being adjusted 50 spots in a week in a half I believe grabbing Hollywood was fitting because he was going in that area beforehand. I believe he wouldnt been sniped and the players I could’ve took wasn’t highly valued by me

The Rice fall has been a bit more gradual over the course of more time than a week and a half.

He gradually went 50 spots above? The last time I drafted was the days after Hollywood went down he was still a 6th pick

He bottomed in the mid to late 8th at the height of suspension concern back in late May/early June.

Since then, he’s gradually moved back up into the 7th, then the late 6th, then the early 6, and then the mid to late 5th.

The Hollywood injury coupled with more confidence he won’t be suspended this season has boosted him up another round to round and a half the last few weeks.

But he certainly didn’t shoot up 50 spots in 2 weeks.

As far as worrying about cheap Rice teams, sure, it’s a concern in the few contests that have been open since the beginning of May. But in all of the time boxed contests, everyone was mostly getting similar prices.

I’d still take him in BBM/DK Milly and make sure to add some of the fallers too like Addison, Nuk, Hollywood, etc. You’ll still be able to build different combos.

Hollywood in the 10th is nice .

I’m mostly seeing him in the mid to late 8th on DK. He’s mid to late 7th, sometimes early 8th, on UD.

I keep buying.

I think Malik and Akers will be the late round guys I'm heaviest on from this point forward. Malik has looked good so far, and I don't trust OBJ to finish as their WR3.

Akers has looked a lot better than Pierce and I think he has RB40 or better upside if Mixon goes down. Only reason I passed on him here is I already had Ekeler and Hill with W14 byes.

1.09

QB - Kyler, Caleb

RB - Warren, Ekeler, Corum, Braelon, Hill, Mason

WR - AJB, MHJ, Rice, DK, Odunze, Legette, LMC, Roman, Malik

TE - Kincaid, Kmet, Dulcich
