2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Players have 2 main props - total yards (passing, rushing, receiving) and total TDs.

Below are the players that are currently favorites for the over in their prop(s).

Yellow means they're favorites in one, and blue means favorites in both. Hill is a favorite to go the over in receiving yards and TDs, while Lamb is only a favorite in receiving yards or TDs.

haha oops

I took Kirk in between Tank and Jeudy

Was a fan of kirk and I took him once out of the 25-27 lineups I have but I believe he’ll be squeezed out by engrams production and Lawrence will be deep throwing to btjr and Davis by mid season .

I wouldn’t never with all due respect touch Jerry jeudy with a 10 ft pole . We all seen what he’s done in the last 3 seasons and with the browns what can go wrong goes wrong not a buyer

by newguyhere P

One of those rare drafts where I take 2 QBs and 2 TEs thru the first 10 rounds so I'll need some luck at RB.

Also, 6 rookie WRs is a lot more than I'm comfortable with as well.

From 1.01

QB - Dak, Tua

RB - Javonte, Spears, Chubb, Allgeier, Shipley, Mason, Akers

WR - Lamb, Nico, Waddle, Worthy, AD, Legette, Burton, Malik, Flournoy

TE - McBride, Ferguson

That’s too many rookies that’s not high valued for me to believe this card will get out of the pods . I love spears Algiers, and javonte a bit but that’s when you become 4-8fp guy every week with those backs behind them man with all due respect not a fan

McBride can easily become this years candidate of a lot of targets last year due to lack of talent surrounding him to the odd man out if he’s force feeding mhjr

He gets a clear QB upgrade with Watson and/or Jameis.

Potential to overtake ol' man Cooper for the WR1 slot.

But the main reason for taking him is he's cheap and the additional W17 correlation with Tua/Waddle/Malik.

Maybe coulda waited for an unknown but potential upside in cedric Tillman I’m just not a fan of jeudy dating back to crimson tide days . And what world is jamesis Winston an upgrade over Russell Wilson last two season he (jeudy)was underwhelming

Wilson was terrible in Denver and Winston is much more desirable as a fantasy QB for my wr in fantasy imo.
That being said, I think I'm sending jeudy to the waiver wire on one of my dynasty teams for cutdowns and keeping Mooney over him. Dude just doesn't have it.

That’s when you believe in media narratives over what you’re seeing if 18.4 fps is garbage with 26td and 8ints then what has jamesis been doing this entire time . Mind you you can be garbage irl and not fantasy wise ala Blake bortles

All in all I agree on your sentiment on jeudy that guy is dumpster juice

Russ was so good last year that he got paid $1.2MM to be a starting nfl qb this year…

Russ was so good last year, he threw for less than 200 yards as many times as he threw for more than 200 yards (7 each). Barely cleared 300 yards twice in the second and third games of the season (308 and 306).

I think Jeudy still has some juice, but I’m pretty ****ing concerned about Deshaun. This arm soreness bull **** has bad vibes.

I wonder how long Deshaun’s leash is. The Browns FO tied up the $, but the coaching staff probably coaching for their jobs.

What do you need to be spending your time on in DFS to be +EV. I broke exactly even last year so obviously I was doing something wrong (Or right depending how you look at it). Do these guy's break down the games? Are they studying which DB's will be up against certain receivers etc?

I just passively listened to podcasts. Obviously this is not enough.

This will be the first time in 30 years I won't be in a managed league. I used to do several

I really can’t say since I’ve never focused on DFS. But from what I’ve heard, you really need to be running or paying for sims, you need to be setting a ton of lineups, you need to be balancing combos/ownership percentage/etc., you need to be tracking injuries and potential inactive, etc. That’s mainly for salary cap DFS.

You could try out some UD Battle Royales, which are less solved due to the snake draft element. But those are pretty rough too from an inactive player standpoint. You can set swaps for lineups already drafted, but it’s a time consuming balancing act. Especially since I think you should be close to maxing the 150 drafts each week to give yourself enough +ev shots. Which takes quite a bit of time, depending on how many you can efficiently do at once. You also need to be chasing lower projected but less owned players. This is where the true scroll the f down concept came from.

I think bankroll also has to be pretty large for volume if you ever want to profit big.

I do think the sharper players consider all sorts of variables such as defensive matchup, Vegas projections, weather, etc.

Of course, you can also do it for fun and for the sweat and potentially bink one. But if you’re just in there on vibes and perception, you’ll probably be a loser in the long run.

Can you place this in context he got paid 1.22 because he had a Guaranteed contract in excess of 90plus million essentially look at it as a major nba player brought out a huge contract and signs a vet min . That’s not the true value of said player .. if you think he didn’t get more on the open market than gardner minshew who I love then you need to reevaluate how you judging the business of nfl lol

While a 36 year old Cousins with a worse career resume, worse playoff record, and coming back from an achilles injury; got 4/180MM

Hard to throw for consistent numbers when you’re asking jeudy to be a number two receiver man this is all time wishcasting lol

Am I mistaken wasn’t cousins genuinely a free agent whose original team allowed him to walk without negotiations??

If cousins was off a guaranteed 90 mill and signed that deal I could see what you’re saying otherwise you’re parroting without context

Meanwhile teams such as falcons wanted Russell Wilson as well but he CHOSE PITTSBURGH after being brought out a huge contract gotta place things in perspective

Juju smith schuster signing may signal a Rashee rice suspension

Wishcasting what?

I got some bad news. The Steelers don't have a #2 even close to Jeudy.

The guy was traded from one franchise and replaced with Geno Smith.

And then released by one of the better offensive HC minds in the game before Russ even started his extension. Payton did his best to hide Russ last season.

And then, signed for the vet min by the Steelers, who also then shipped a draft pick for Fields.

Russ's game does not fit today's NFL, especially with his athleticism gone. What made him great was the fact he was mobile in and out of the pocket, which gave his receivers time to get open down field. Today's NFL defenses push everything underneath to take away the downfield play. Russ was never the guy throwing short/intermediate middle of the field passes.

I feel pretty confident that Russ will not be a starter anywhere after this season.

And this doesn't even get into how annoying and toxic he is to a locker room.

No bro I’m off the Russell Wilson debate the wish casting was jeudy potential to take over number 1 for cooper and all the fancy talk up of Jerry jeudy is wishcasting until he plays to his value which he hasn’t in 4 seasons now with the browns

12 team standard (zero PPR), start 2RB, 2wr, flex, from 6 hole:

6. JT (lamb, Henry)
19. AJB (Wilson)
31. Kenneth walker (nico)
42. Deebo (laporta)
55. McBride (dj moore)
66. Pickens (devontae smith)
79. Stroud
90. Corum
103. Worthy
114. Allgier
127. Jaylen weight
128. Ray Davis
151. Doubs
162. Carson Steele
Saints D bc they open be panthers at home

Loved this draft. Was shocked to see AJB in the 2nd and deebo in the 4th. A lot oh high priority rb handcuffs and worthy on the bench

Got ya. I wasn’t wishcasting Jeudy at all lol. Just said I think he still has some juice. The Browns paid him like he’s going to be very involved.

Russ lost his edge, it was very clear he was trying to avoid contact in the pocket and his legs aren't what they used to be. I saw some feel good stories in the off-season how he's rededicated himself and maybe so. I've always like Russ and he should be in a good position with the Steelers but Arthur Smith, yikes. Will he get 400 attempts?

Now I can agree they did pay him but my counters would be, He would have to have displayed juice for him to have juice left lol.all love fam just a few jokes But all in all we have seen a few WRs change scenery and play above value.

For sure, we'll see how it goes haha. I have something like 6% of Jeudy, mostly on Mia bring backs or stacked with Deshaun. His price of WR59 on UD seems reasonable.

Lamb got paid . No more holdout.
