2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

On DK jaylen Wright 148
Jaleel 185

Even kendre miller is ranked higher , tell me why ?

Undersized? We all seen what Darren sproles did in a Payton offense I just say why second guess it

Because Sproles was an outlier?

Sproles was a top 15 RB his rookies season. Jaleel was RB46 last year and never cleared more than 40% of the snaps, even with Javonte struggling coming off of the knee. He was sub 20% of the snaps in more games than not.

Blake Watson is also another UDFA Payton was excited to have. He and Jaleel play the same role. It’s possible Watson emerges at some point too.

I’m still mixing Jaleel in since I think he can have some productive weeks here or there, but if you gave me one choice for one team, it’s Wright all day long.

by Rev9 P

When has estime played with the 1st team? I didn’t recall him getting more meaningful snaps in preseason or training camp news. It’s been all Jaleel . And that’s not always true, the players whose the most explosive even on lesser teams tend to outweigh their circumstances

Estime is a rookie who Payton was really excited to draft. These things aren’t linear.

Just did my 1st UD $10 sng 10 teamer with the 30 second clock.

Got good stacks and a nice team, but bye weeks for my stacked players coincided far too much with the others.

Q:
-For your non-stacked players and for overall team building - what is the primary focus - diversifying bye weeks, or overall talent - where do you draw the line?

-How are you keeping track of everything as the draft goes on in these quick drafts?

I take it that my lack of experience in Best Balls is probably a factor too.

Beckham to pup . Malik Washington szn

called it

Foreman cut by Browns is scary for a lot of my exposures (Chase Brown, Dowdle, Chargers, etc…😉. He’s a back that can earn touches over a lot of those meh guys

I take it that my lack of

I try to avoid overlapping QB/TE byes, even if I have 3 in either room.

For WRs, if I take 7, I try to avoid more than 3. If I take 8 or 9, then I think up to 4 is fine.

For RBs, if I take 4 (very rarely), I don't want any overlap. For 5, I only want 2 overlap. For 6, I'd still prefer only 2 overlap, but you can probably get away with 3.

I use an overlay software tool to keep track of a lot of what I'm doing while I draft. But if you're not using a tool, it just takes practice haha.

At least I have 8% or so Foreman just in case he sabotages another backfield. It was up to like 11-12%, as he felt like one of the better late round clicks in May and June. I'm surprised they like Pierre Strong more. That's honestly a bad sign for Foreman. Maybe Foreman is done.

I like Malik. I also think this means Jonnu szn.

I have 14% aj Dillon . Lol me I guess .

Elijah Mitchell out for year so either mason or guerendo is the handcuff.

Nice. I wasn't drafting Dillon, but less resistance to Lloyd whenever he's healthy.

Elijah Mitchell to season-ending IR too. Glad I was never on him. Jordan Mason szn.

Jinx haha.

ETA: I think Guerendo is special teams more than anything, but at least that means he'll be active on gameday. So he could always have some backdoor production

18% malik
24% jonnu

12% here...lame

10% lloyd, 8% jacobs

I have 4% Jacobs and 13% Lloyd. Still think it can play out in my favor late season. Just saw Lloyd avoided the PUP, so that’s nice. We’ll see.

Re: Foreman

Could also be a terrible sign for Deshaun.

Blake Watson to the MOON

OK I'm a dumbass. What does 'szn' mean?

Also, Dalvin Cook meeting with the Cowboys. Says he hasn't felt better in years. LOL. Still think he would be the #1 back in that room if he signs.

A lot of people think he's washed. I think he was in a bad situation with the Jets last year. My only knock against him is age, but I'll take some shares in Round 19 or 20 if he signs with Dallas.

Hey Heels.

There's a new DFS contest on FD that might be right up your alley.

You pick 3 players to score a TD (rush, recv, ko and p return), and it's 3-entry max for $1/entry.

The only thing I'm confused by is it currently shows $25k to 1st only. So I'm not sure if it's winner take all or if they'll pay more places as more peole register.

Blake Watson to the MOON

He was the highest paid UDFA. The Broncos talked about him in a "Kamara" type of way regarding what he can do out there. Ironically, Badie was talked up as having the best camp for the Bronco RB's.

Think it’s winner take all. Dk has something similar for all sports .

Szn = season. Just an abbreviation for being bullish haha.

Cook’s metrics his last season in Minny were awful, even though his box scores were pretty good. We’re now a bad season last year, and no clear interests from NFL teams this off-season until now away from that.

Don’t think he’s anymore than depth if he signs with Dallas, which based off of negotiations with the Jets last year, I’m guessing he won’t want to accept.

Ah thanks. I can certainly think of worse ways to waste $3 and none of them involve a 0.000000001% chance of winning $25k

Seems likely to be a decent split for first place, which I’m guessing is why they do it as winner take all.

Say the average is 8 TDs per season for the pool. .5 x .5 x .5 x 29k = 3,600 expected winners.

Even if you say 4 TDs per season that’d be 450 expected winners.

And actually, just noticed Richardson. So if QBs are included, that seems like a really easy parlay lol.

dynasty-ish league where you keep exactly 11 players for as long as you want
.5 PRR, 12 team, QB/2RB/3WR/TE/2FLEX

hurts, stroud, purdy
achane, barkley, jacobs, javonte williams, aaron jones, kendre miller
amon-ra, garrett wilson, AJ brown, jayden reed, godwin, shakir
hock, musgrave

I have to get down to 11 players before the draft so I'm trying trade 2 of hurts/ stroud/ purdy along with 2-3 RB/WRs.

Is offering stroud, aaron jones, javonte & godwin reasonable for JJ or cd lamb? If I don't get a trade done I'm likely not keeping godwin or jones anyways.

I am leaning towards keeping:
hurts, stroud
achane, barkley, jacobs, javonte
amon-ra, garrett wilson, AJB, jayden reed
hock

which means I'm dropping:
purdy
aaron jones, kendre
godwin, shakir
musgrave

Since it’s a keeper/redraft hybrid, I like keeping Jones over Javonte if you can’t trade Javonte.

And then target some rookies to take that spot next season, if Jones goes over the hill by the end of this year.

Those trade offers are a sum of parts for a whole, but if those teams are desperate for keepers, maybe they do it. But I’d rather have JJ/CD.

Kyren as punt returner. What can go wrong?

Kyren/Rams DST DFS plays incoming.
