2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Did a PPR startup 6 man keeper leauge $200 auction draft. Was definitely interesting because some teams went top heavy to get strong keepers for future years while others have more balanced rosters. I went top heavy and spent the majority of my budget on 4 studs and then got some cheap rookies with good keeper value.

Chase $63
St. Brown $55
Etienne $37
Nico $23
Jonathan brooks $6
Bowers $3
Kyler $1

Pretty much everyone else was a dollar or two

Qb:

Fun team. Don't really care for the Etienne buy but don't think you overpaid either. It's market value today. I'm just lower on him than most and think he's a bit overrated. He's also going to be looking for a contract into next season, and that could be an annoying hold out.

Brooks for $6 will likely feel real nice heading into next season. Same with Bowers for $3. I can't believe he went for that cheap. Nico for $23 is fun too. He's a beast, and I think it's unlikely Diggs is back next season.

My goal was 3 young stud wrs, including two of the top 5 if possible. Also wanted at least one top 10 rb. I knew I couldn’t afford hall/bijan/gibbs with how much I was going to spend on wr. Also didn’t want an older rb like cmc or barley. So I was looking at an etienne/kyren/achane type. Kyren also went for 37. Some of the Twitter dynasty bros really like etienne, 3 down back, not much competition, catches passes, etc.

I think I got bowers for 3 bc he was nominated late when people were low on money and everyone else had a starting TE

Achane would have been real nice.

And yeah, Etienne is perfectly fine. I'm just not the biggest fan.

Also, PSA to the UD drafters. Be careful with the updated autopilot feature. You'll go autopilot if you let the software time down and pick your highest ranked/queued player 2 picks in a row.

I let my queue pick at 134. By the time I got to 155, I wasn't thinking about it and let my queue pick again. That threw me into autopilot and the 12 spot picked real fast, and I couldn't get out of it fast enough for 158. It wasn't the biggest travesty, but I was planning to go Stafford or Levis instead of Jordan Mason.

I won't make that mistake again.

Flock contest.

Lamar, Baker

JT, Moss, Spears, Chandler, Irving, Mason

Puka, Flowers, Odunze, Addison, Nuk, Big Mike, Iosivas, Tez

Pitts, Otton

Fast draft on yahoo tonight. Only league that is on yahoo, and it's a league I've been in for awhile, including some people I am friends with IRL. League is 12 team, single qb, .5ppr, (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, W/R, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN). A solid number of Bears fans, and a mix of knowledgeable and not so knowledgeable fantasy players.

Here is my draft from the 2 spot:

2. Lamb
23. Cook
26. KWIII
47. Nabers
50. Pittman
71. Daniels
74. Engram
95. Brooks
98. Thomas Jr
119. Trevor Lawrence
122. Hubbard
143. Doubs
146. Dobbins
167. Indianapolis
170. Fairbairn (k)

Some interesting picks, in my opinion:

Pacheco went 12th, ahead of Barkley (14), K Williams (15), Henry (16) and Gibbs (17).

Kelce went 22 overall.

Same guy who took Kelce took Stroud as QB1 at #27.

Lamar (32), Mahomes (33), and Allen (35) all went in round 3 also.

Engram was TE7 overall off the board. Pitts and Ferguson were still available when I drafted him.

The first defense drafted was in round 9, Baltimore, at 101 overall, followed by SF at 103.

The first kicker drafted was Tucker at 125, in round 11.

Yahoo gave me a D-, and projects me to go 2-12. Yikes. Tried something new that may backfire. Oh well. lol

10 man, full ppr, 6 pt td pass, 3wr, 1 flex. Judge me. Only thing I hate is taking Rasheed over Sutton. Didn't realize he was still available and had sutton higher on my rankings. i'm pick 4.

I like still being able to get the Addison/Nuk discount.

Nice team.

Here is one of my Flocks. Pick 12.

QB) Mahomes, Rodgers

RB) Gibbs, C Brown, Singletary, Tracy, Perine, Estime

WR) Deebo, Rice, Odunze, Jamo, Hopkins, G Davis, M Williams, Corley

TE) Kittle, Conklin

I think it's good. Were you not planning on drafting Mason at all, or just when you did at that particular point in the draft?

Just maxed out the final $200k on DK. This'll probably be it for me unless I decide to enter a few more over the weekend.

Why do I even bother posting this ****.

Bored. Deposited $20 and just did a DK Milly.

The gambling Gods rewarded me though with the #1 pick

My only critique is I think you have to play Wilson if you're playing Rodgers. In the last 8 times Rodgers has been a top 20 fantasy QB, his WR1 has been a top 10 WR, 5 out of those 8 times.

Nice team.

I started with 3 WRs through 6 knowing both would be there, so it worked out nicely. Feels good to have some flexibility when you end up in the 10-12 spot. Whereas a month or two ago, I felt in big trouble if I didn't have at least 4 WRs through 6.

Fun team. In the Flock I was in, the 12 spot took Rice at 13. I thought he was setting up a big KC stack to take Mahomes and Kelce at 36/37. He went Tee and Diggs lol.

by newguyhere P

Just not at that point. Nothing against drafting him, but I was debating if I even needed a 6th RB so was going to lock up QB2 and then see what happened.

Went a different route in Flock 2

Purdy, Tua

Monty, Wright, Zeke, Bucky, Gibson, Samaje, Akers

Reek, Aiyuk, Nabers, Pickens, Hollywood, Nuk, Malik

Andrews, Kittle

Got some nice values. Kittle 10 spots. Hollywood 18 spots. Nuk 11 spots.

I was gonna say I would've taken Akers.

Between him and Mason they'll each need help to be fantasy relevant, but Akers gives you correlation with your Lamar stack.

DK Milly 1.01

Dak, Baker, Fields

Warren, Moss, Brooks, Zeke, Steele, Laube

Lamb, Evans, Devonta, Terry, Godwin, Gabe, Malik, Roman

Ferguson, Conklin, Likely

for those of you who entered myffpc leagues, does collusion worry you at all? are trades permitted?

I can’t play there anymore because of location so can’t say about collusion but if I recall there’s no trades .

I'm planning on Mahomes hitting my lineup more often than not. I only had stacking outs for Rodgers or Levis. I didn't think either would make it back to me. This is what sucks when you are picking on the end. I'll be more than happy if Rodgers has a big year throwing to Wilson.

Worried about Wright stealing big shares of the rush game in Mia?

I like this one a lot.

Fields is going to play at some point this year. Every time I have a luxury pick I am taking him unless I'm stacked at QB. Getting Roman was good.

Malik Washington is going under drafted. Beckham and Craycraft are on IR. What's not to love. He's another late round click for me.

I love the Likely pick.

by Henry_Sugar P

He'll only get big shares if Mostert or Achane gets hurt. Even then he's fourth on the depth chart behind Jeff Wilson. It could take a while for him do anything.

Pacheco at 12 is terrible.

I like your team a lot, especially the Lawrence-BJT connection. Dislike Cook that early. Pittman too but that won't break you if he has an off year.

You can get some great values in the Flock drafts.

Purdy/Tua is a nice combo when you wait a bit at QB.

Your RB room looks ugly at first sight but once you get to know it you realize it's quite attractive(Sort of). They should all contribute a little something early on except for Wright and Akers. Perine should have nice stand alone value and massive contingency value. Gibson is a guy no one wants but will significantly outproduce his ADP. Wright has several paths to upside.

Nice team!

by newguyhere P

Yeah, Akers is still going in the 18th. Mason is up to the 15th, and my auto was in the early 14th lol. I use LegUp's rankings, and they have him ranked very aggressively.

Those are the best RB rooms. Cringe at first sight, and then you start telling yourself the stories haha.

I love tacking on Gibson to rooms that need to find early production late in the draft.

Flock number 3. Pick 7.

I came one pick from getting Hopkins. That would have been a juicy week 17 game stack.

QB) Lawrence, Goff

RB) Achane, Etienne, Warren, Pollard, Davis.

WR) ARSB, Aiyuk, Ridley, BTJ, G Davis, D Douglas, Mcmillan, Burton, Raymond.

TE) Engram, Jonnu
