2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

48 teams on Drafters (first $2 contest), but I do still have a ticket I need to use for the $15 contest. I'll probably draft it tomorrow.

I am very much looking forward to a break from drafting, and especially a break from the constant responsibility of being otc in slows haha. Hopefully a few of the teams make the finals.

The only DFS I do on DK is UFC and occasionally Nascar or PGA. All my NFL exposure for DFS is on FD with the exception of 2 contests I have on DK this Sunday that I had tickets for.
I did a few best ball drafts on Yahoo for small stakes. For those who aren't familiar, they are 10 team leagues, winner of each of the first 17 weeks gets a 2% payout, then 1st - 3rd get 28/18/10% payouts for the season standings. 10% juice. Positions are: QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/RB/FLEX/TE. The flex spot is WR/RB/TE. 9 bench spots. .5 PPR.

just everything went wrong in the draft. I had like 10 players I was willing to reach for, and got none of them.
it's PPR and 3 WR so WR going like crazy, which is expected, but it was EXTREME... which would have been ok but I took two RBs to start my draft cuz that is who fell to me in the 11 spot. so it was hard for me take advantage of all the RBs left to me, when I was desperate for WR
oh and I was clicking draft in round 13 of 16, but nothing was happening! I timed out and it randomly chose Bengals defense for me! in round 13!!! wtf! lol... insanely lucky that I was gonna pick them anyway, but in round 16, not 13!
so then I panicked and drafted Brock ****ing purdy in R14, just cuz he was at the top of my suggestions, and I was desperate to just get ANY pick in so the computer didn't **** me again ugh
Yahoo gave me a D, and fantasy pro's gave me a B and predicted second place finish for me, and 13% chance to ship, but still really unhappy with my draft
I mean you got Pickens twice. That's a bonus.

Yeah this seems unlikely to win anything. Feels like a 7th place team.
It looks like this draft went a lot more like a relatively sharp best ball on ud than a normal home league and going rb/rb in that type of room is basically a death sentence.
I’ll say this, while it looks unlikely to win, if you bink a couple league winners (btjr/coleman/waiver wire) and the top rbs out perform you have a chance. I’ve seen worse teams win

I think this is a bad format to speculate on Chubb, Hock and Brooks.
But I can see paths for all 3 teams. I’d probably rank them 1, 2, 3.

this is pretty much what I was thinking too. I'm not drawing dead, but have to get real lucky to win. I mean whoever wins is gonna have to get lucky. but I expected to come away from the draft with a team I like, not a team I hate. I literally had ONE draft pick I was happy about! fml! brian Robinson rj. I got him like a round after he was expected to go.
they do high stakes side action, but I think I'll stay out of that cuz I hate my team so much
and at this point I wouldn't even be that unhappy with 7th place fml lol... just to avoid 2k last place penalty

FWIW, yahoo picks team 1 and team 3 to be their league winners, and team 2 to finish 7th. Oh well. *shrug*
