Wow, I guess it's not the war hawk thing after all then. Who knew?

Trump failed as president and was responsible for numerous felonies after he lost the election. Seems like a decent reason to not support him for president.

Seems they supported him until at least August of his final year of presidency.

I think the election is traditionally in November of the final year of presidency.

Trump pulled out of the Iran deal....then shipped weapons to Saudi, UAE and Jordan because of the threat of Iran. Not to mention all the drone strikes. He was a huge war hawk.

Yes. But to say they think he failed as president, when it seems they supported him for at least 3.5 years of it, might be a bit of a reach.

J6 may have swayed.
Or events that unfolded post presidency.

IF that's what happened I'm guessing they knew he was a failure but supported him anyway because they are partisans then the election felonies were too much. Many in his cabinet followed the same pattern.

I mean, the article lists Jan 6th as an explicit reason. Housenuts just doesn't want to admit it because that would mean admitting that someone other than the crazy leftists thinks Jan 6th was a big deal.

I didn't read the article. If that's the explicit reason they have, so be it. Everyone is entitled to their own reasoning.

"In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump," Dick Cheney said in a statement. "He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again."

So, not that curious, then. Not to mention she's been very vocal about that, including in her position on the Jan 6th committee.

So in the Cheney's view, these are the two people America is voting for. LOL failed nation.

Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who would raise taxes, take away guns & health insurance, and explode the size and power of the federal gov’t. She wants to recreate America in the image of what’s happening on the streets of Portland & Seattle. We won’t give her the chance.

Yes, according to Cheney. Good thing she's wildly wrong about the first one, though. Don't forget that just because Jan 6th pssd her off (as it should), she's still a typical fear mongering conservative. Good grief, she even said "tHeY'rE gOnNa TaKe yEr gUUUUUUUNs." It's not some big gotcha that a typical conservative isn't in love with Kamala Harris as you seem to think it is. It is, however, telling that a typical conservative is so repulsed by Trump's behavior (again, as she should be) that she would vote for Harris over him.

It's always amusing to watch the desperate scrambling for a gotcha point, though, so thanks for that.

Conflating cheney’s policies to Harris is ludicrous. There is no ideological parallel to her, all things being equal the Republican candidate is obviously going to be their choice

Acting shocked that a sociopathic outlier with a personal vendetta against you and your family isn’t a good enough reason to vote against your ideological self interests is….a choice. Trying to argue cheney is supporting Harris cuz they identify with Harris (as Victor apparently implied) is ignorant nonsense

Liz Cheney prior to election: I support Donald trump because I am a Republican and Harris is a liberal like biden

Election happens

J6 happens

Liz cheney: that wasn’t good. We can’t have this happen again. I denounce Donald trump and think he should be held accountable

Candidate Donald trump: **** Liz cheney, let’s primary her then jail her

Liz Cheney is primaried

Candidate Donald trump: let’s jail Liz cheney

The cheneys vote against candidate donald trump

This forum: SEE?! BLUE MAGA! HARRIS IS CHENEY CHENEY IS HARRIS!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's 100% defensible for Cheney and others ex-republicans to come out against Trump as much as they like, while it absolutely isn't to throw any support at Harris, unless they clarify somehow Harris policy platform is bad for them.

Then, everyone if free to do so as he pleases, but please don't hide the fact that Harris platform is still ultra progressive and so any person who isn't very progressive should come out against the platform.

Like you know you can actually say even I vote for Harris because of Ukraine, even if her economic platform is horrifying

1) primaries are an interesting democratic process
2) this all happened a while ago
3) this forum recently: Wow even Cheneys support Harris
4) Cheney's still think Harris is complete dust, just better than arch villain Trump

ofc they share ideology on almost all policies and subjects. but thats not what I was implying. I was just loling at Dems for celebrating the endorsement of one of the most evil people of my lifetime.

Don't think anybody has even claimed any Cheney "supports" any dem other than in a ranked choice contest with Trump.

I am shocked that housenuts understand how politics works beyond "yay bitcoin".

My guess is dick is more aligned on foreign policy with kamala. Not that trump really has a foreign policy. But I'm guessing DC probably hates that trump sucks up to putin and tries to undermine nato.

I'm actually taken aback here. Isn't it crystal clear that he doesn't?

Yes, they want the complex to continue.

Putin supports Harris. All foreign leaders eager to 'negotiate' with her with.
