Here a dumb question .
Are guns today restricted during trump rallies ?

If yes why ?
Shouldn’t Trump be more protected by everyone caring guns ?
Isn’t that the logic of republicans ?

Anyway, democrats should just implement a huge federal tax on all automatic and semi automatic weapons .
U don’t ban guns but at least u make it far more difficult to obtain .

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

probably a lot you can do that doesn't infringe on the rights of well-regulated militias

Private meetings can decide rules about themselves.

And schools don't allow kids to enter with machine guns either, that's already forbidden do you get that?

Sorry bro but it's 2 different rights: well regulated militia and the right to bear arms.

You have a right to bear arms, and to do so as a group (militia) if well regulate in that.

I always thought you could argue there is no right to bear arms because well regulated militias are not necessary to the security of a free state. Like if False then False is True, but not because False = True. So if you just outlaw guns, you're not violating the 2nd amendment at all. But law is not logic.

Luc, is the Constitution as originally written many many years ago, pure as driven snow?

Has the Constitution ever been over turned or added to?

This one clause you (and others) seem to cling to.....

Nice deflection ….
Do increasing guns presence assured a better security for everyone ?
The right says yes so why make regulations (even in private meeting like a trump rallies ) to ban guns ?

Nice straw man but I never made a link between machine guns presence being allowed in school .
I just said to use taxes on machine guns in a general aspect of life (maybe I should specify this for people like you …😉 for trying to control guns proliferations .

Anyway Luciom , the concept u make of equating more guns do not increases Risk is nonsense .

Why you think countries gladly accepted previously a stop on creating and proliferating nuclear weapons ?
To make it less safer ?
Please ……

Ok so the proposal is to amend the 2a? And when you realize that you don't have the states that agree with you to do so, then you just complain forever?

Nothing can be done inside the current constitutional framework?

right to bear arms? yeah most people have two, you can flex if you want

or are we talkin the arms of bears? not sure i agree with that interpretation, unlike rfk jr

Its pretty obvious that 2a is now a huge negative for our country.

problem with 2nd amendment repeal is that hunting a deeply ingrained cultural aspect of american society so despite any legitimate claims to remove them for safety reasons, you'd still need to grandfather in hunting and that would then become the new loophole/exploit

when australians gave up their guns, they only had 17.5 guns for every hundred citizens for a total of about 3.5 million guns

the united states have more guns than people with 393 million

so in oz it was a much simpler logistic process

1/3 of americans own a gun directly, 44% live in a household with a gun

so we're talking something nearly half the country are directly involved in ownership

arguing the cat is out of the bag is a bit disingenous, but so are people thinking that removing the guns is something that wouldn't take well over a decade to finish and of course result in major problems and likely a lot of dead people as various nutjobs refuse to hand them over and will "go down for the cause"

for a good example, just look at how federal agencies are intimidated and back off, refusing to do their job to stop ranchers from illegally using government land and water rights simply because those federal agents do not want to risk their lives against those people

this guy has still never faced any charges for his actions because the feds would rather allow him to break the law than have another waco/ruby ridge type thing in the news cycle

if we try to take guns away, we'll have that same problem x1 million

Doing everything in 1 scoop would obviously be wrong .
Just do it by step .
Ban the most dangerous guns first .

10 years later u expand more .

this is exactly why the nra, which at least used to genuinely believe nobody should be able to own assault rifles, will still fight tooth and nail against any bans whatsoever because they see it as stepping stones

the first three steps they'll honestly agree with

but then they want to take handguns

next are shotguns etc

nra has definitely gotten a bad rap from these stances as well, i think in recent decades they've radicalized a bit and also not on top of things, but the gun owning members of my family were all incredibly responsible and safety conscious and a lot of that came from nra safety instruction (military background helped as well)

the guy who buys an ar-15 and keeps it sitting loose behind the couch despite having teenage children (i'm ashamed to be friends with some of these people) is not the person who joins the nra

every nra member i know keeps all firearms pointed down, never remotely treats them like toys/cool things, always assumes a gun is loaded, and keeps them locked up separate from the ammo at all times

i'd be shocked if the recent shooter's dad was an nra member, those aren't the type who buy a 14 year an ar-15 for christmas (maybe a shotgun or .22 that stays locked up but an ar-15 that he keeps in his room wtf?)

The dumb thing about the second amendment is it doesn't specify what type of arms. You can be allowed a slingshot and that would satisfy it.

I don’t get your point ?
In like any parts of life, Responsible people pays for irresponsible people all the time (money, restricted freedom, more regulations, etc) .
No idea why guns should be excluded for that reason .
Especially so with things as dangerous as guns .

Rick Scott’s abortion lies.

My wife and I are registered Republicans in Florida, but we will
be voting for Debbie, Kamala, and blue from top to bottom.
The only hope for the Republican Party is to clean house.

I’m a conservative who is fed up with the GOP.
We the people are tired of the division and fear mongering tactics.
We want our leader to preach togetherness and acceptance.
Americans are getting sick of the same old playbook. Red voting Blue.

Red state suddenly IN PLAY for Democrats

Not all gun owners have the same opinion on gun control options.

Trump threatened election workers, lawyers, and donors
that he would attempt to imprison anyone who engages
in "unscrupulous behavior" during the 2024 election

Trademark authoritarian tactics

This is a desperate man… he knows he is losing and knows how to ramp up his delusional base…

Trump said you can abort babies after they're born in several states and he said kids go to school and get a sex change operation and come home a different sex than they left.

The man is completely bonkers. Please stop supporting this buffoon.

Funny he want to use the law to punish people hard but not when he is judged by the same law.

"Taking away guns" would accomplish nothing. There is enough guns in your country that even if you somehow managed to elect some hypothetical emperor Palpatine with the political means to do this, who could somehow just bypass every check and balance in your country, it would be irrelevant. You have so many existing guns, so many people willing to bypass any legal means to deny access to them, that you'd still be equipped for school massacres for centuries.

There is no solution to your gun murder dilemma that can be resolved by one side in this bitter bi-partisan environment. Any attempt to do so would be controversial, used to rally support for the opposition and be dissolved at the next junction.

You need a serious plan based on evidence, you'd need a broadly agreed upon agenda and a political environment willing to stick by it for likely at least a generation and not sell it out for cheap political gain, and on the road towards improvement you'd have to accept that there are no shortcuts.

Does that sound like one of the most insurmountable political tasks in modern US history? Well, perhaps. However, it also says something about where you need to begin, which is to ditch demagogues and influencer politicians.

And you probably need to take politicians who say "school shootings are a fact of life" while they stand in a law enforcement controlled zone, inside a gun-free rally, behind bulletproof panes of glass and surrounded by federal agents and show them the door, because that there is Louis XVI territory of oblivious.

the most tilting part of all post apocalyptic movies and tv shows set in america is people are always short on guns and ammo

lolololololol

forget about the trillions of bullets of millions of guns found in various homes, farms, walmarts, etc that at most a few million (and as depicted a few thousand) people would be splitting up

making your own bullets and shot is such a simple and easy process that many rednecks do it and have loading stations setup in their man caves or basements

and let's say it's off in the distant future where all the guns have been used so much they're not in working order, you can literally make your own rifle or shotgun using regular household items

That's one of the strats trump claims is best for getting what you want. I whine and whine and whine--until I win 😀

Wouldn't be the worst for a registration system.
