2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

We are so locked in.

I hate Miami showdown slates because I can't help but be biased and overload on them.

7 entries tonight.

1 Tua/Hill/Waddle stack
1 with Wilson
6 with Achane

The math isn't mathing

5 with Achane

Achane's ankle injury must have been very minimal lol.

Scared money don't make money.

Tua to Achane. Perfect. Hurrah for the false start.

Do you have an argument for why rather than just a common blanket statement? This is in reference to a big field GPP.

I don't know what you're asking. If you just play the highest projected lineups, you're in line with the field using the same projections. Sacrificing projection for ownership product gives you chances to jump the field when inevitable variance occurs.

lol Miami. Oh boy. Bad bad time to be facing Cook.

I’m against him lol . Tho I beat a guy with Lamar and worthy last week .

This is why you don't let OL with 10+ year all-pro potential like Sewell fall to pick 7. Looking at you Atlanta and Miami. But Detroit deserved something good for a change.

Captain Cook is gonna help me mincash, despite a disaster Dolphins onslaught.

Skylar time.

not like that :(

Does anyone still have the count on how many concussions Tua has had?

Tough to see that.

I'm not complaining about more points, but I'd like to see Achane hit the bench now.

Maybe the most annoying part of fantasy football is timing. Against Allen in 2/3 leagues last week, and he's not even going to put up 10 points tonight.

last week Jayden reed crushes me with 32 points before the weekend, and now this **** happens to me again with achaine crushing me. fml

fantasy football is not fair! :(

Hate to see it. Get well soon, Tua! And my team is done for the week. Tarheels2222, I'm playing the future champ this week I think. He's stacked. Especially after acquiring Prescott and has Mason. What do you think?

He's got a fun team. I think at least half the league has a chance to run good and ship it. Quite a few good teams, and no one's team is dead.

I started 4/8 Achane tonight and not facing Cook anywhere.

Only had one team that had a bad night starting Wilson, Reek, and Coleman.

I'll be ok. I still have Bryce :p

How do you think Tyreek will do ROS? I think he and the rest will still be elite once Skylar get a week of game prep.

Certainly appears Sewell should've been drafted 1 or 2 that year depending on your feelings for Jamarr Chase

First round review.

1) CMC....BUST! I saw this coming a mile away and still took him. I finally got smart and started taking Lamb 1.01 at the end of August. The injury seal is broken. Mason acquitted himself nicely. Ten percent of my teams are basically dead.

2) Lamb...Should be fine

3) Hill....TBD but probable BUST. I'll wait to see if they make a big move for a competent QB.

4) Chase...TBD

5) Jefferson....Should have been going behind Breece and Bijan and probably AJ. Using a top 6 pick on him was bad. Using a pick 9 or later is fine.

6) ARSB...TBD but not trending well with the emergence of Williams. I was big on Jamison but still took ARSB high...Dumb!

7) Bijan...TBD. I'm waiting to see what this team looks like with Penix.

8) Breece. This is a league winner pick. He'll be RB1

9) AJ Brown....He should have been a top 6 pick.

10) Puka...BUST! How people on podcasts, and YouTube thought this was a slam dunk pick shows that this is not a game of skill. Puka and Kupp should have been going back to back in the middle to late second round. As we got into August Kupp should have been going in the late first and certainly should have been ahead of Puka.

11) Wilson...TBD

12) Gibbs...This is a fine pick now that we are in a flat tier.

I'll add Marvin since he was often going in the first....BUST! This was another absurd ranking. He has a short QB who can't seen him. Reports were that he looked slow in camp. I took the word of people that he is a generational talent but I was never impressed.

One of these days I'm gonna act on my gut more. The fantasy hive mind gets it wrong all of the time. Remember CEH going in the early round 1? How about Kelce going top 5 last year. I was smart enough to avoid these dumb picks. Unfortunately, I hedged my bets by taking players I knew I should have been fading more.
