ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

TwoPlusTwo Forum User Claims 'World' Identity: Poster's Enigmatic Claim Sparks Debate and Skepticism

Amazing!

Trump held another rally with nothing but conspiracy theories and racism. More about Haitian immigrants (coming from place nobody knows.. hmm.. how about Haiti) eating pets, children going to school and coming back with sex change operation, rigged debate that he won, all the usual stuff from latest album.

Gotta respect him. If I got laughed at by everyone with a McD quarter-brainer after every rally and debate, I just could not go out and perform anymore. But he just goes on and presents himself as the clown he is again and again, never slowing down.

Poor geese though

Send them to my town. There are some resident geese near me that would look good on someone's dinner table.

Man, I wish some immigrants would come to Chagrin Falls and eat all the Canadian geese there. Dirty ****ing birds.

Amazing!

I’ve been pushing this in the Canada thread for like years for increasing productivity without much cost from society and lack of ressources .
Especially in a situation where workers are missing, instead rather lower rates to% 0 or they let through millions of immigrants , go figure ….

Amazing!

What is truly amazing is that when president Trump drastically reduced Obama's executive order to validate overtime pay for a ton of people (millions) who weren't receiving it.

Here is an article on the subject

"The rule says anyone who makes less than $47,476 per year must receive time-and-a-half pay for hours worked beyond 40 hours a week. That's roughly double the current threshold of $23,660."

Two days of bomb threats at Springfield schools. Nice work you orange idiot and all of his followers.

why do conservatives think this is an own? if he comes up with a good policy and she takes it, is that a problem?

so Trump doesn’t want to allow deductions up to 50k on new small businesses because Kamala wants it?

do you see how brain poisoned partisanship makes you?

also it makes you guys look really stupid when you say “zomg kamala can’t pass any of the policies she’s running on” like Trump did during the debate and then get mad when she runs on policies that you guys have come out and supported/give credit to Trump for running on policies that he needs congress in order to pass.

why do conservatives think this is an own?

you severely underestimate the amount of uneducated 1st level thinkers in this country who will agree it's a huge own

but i think they are dumb for framing it that way to appeal to the mouth breathers, it should instead be flipped from an insult on others into a brag for yourself in your thought leadership (and then the mouth breathers will still then turn it into an insult on their own)

It isn't, there is also (ON PAPER) a strong agreement between Vance and Harris on increasing the child tax credit.

They just want to be able to claim they started the idea, pretty reasonable, like for no taxes on tips.

Politics still works as normal no matter how much some people want to paint Trump as an anomaly. There will be bipartisan agreement on some stuff, and that stuff will be legislated as INTENDED by what democracy truly is. An attempt to do what ample majorities of the people want to be done.

politico reports that Trump purportedly declared that he won't sell shares in DJT once he is allowed to do so (which should be from next Thursday on)

This makes sense because Trump companies do go bankrupt.

When his 3 casinos went bankrupt Trump created a company on the stock market that absorbed the 3 casinos and all of their debt as a result of the bankruptcy. He was chairman of the board (If I remember correctly) and Ivanka was also on the board. They got paid substantial amounts of money and I believe this overlapped with the apprentice. After about 12 years or so the new company went bankrupt and the remaining shares were worthless.

If Trump sold his shares in DJT (Truth Social) the company would go bankrupt (or virtually worthless from a share price standpoint) in no time. Now Trump could be lying just to keep the share price over $12 so he can actually sell shares. No way to know until Sept 19. But my guess is that Trump is cleverly not going to have another bankruptcy right before the election which would bring the focus on his prior bankruptcies and the scam that Truth Social really is, because it doesn't make much money as a company, the share prices are ridiculously high, and Trump's stock value at over a billion dollars is really a scam.

... it (truthsocial) doesn't make much money as a company ...

Try, makes no money, and never will make any money.

I suppose he will just pledge them as collateral with some heavy discount, get some hundred millions to do stuff (he shouldn't need money for legal expenses as he is tapping donors for that, but maybe he needs money if he loses appeals in his various civil cases) , and if things go south it means he is not president anymore and he is fighting to stay out of jail so he could care less about reputational damage and whatnot at that point.

Otoh if he wins in november, any billionaire who really wants power can just acquire DJT outright (think Musk or anyone else), trump makes some billions, and it's legal corruption

Friendly reminder a bipartisan border policy bill was killed cuz trump was in his feels and wanted to run on immigration

Try, makes no money, and never will make any money.

Truth social will never be profitable. It’s entire existence was an attempt at:

1. A cash grab by trump if it’s value didn’t crater and his beginning to sell shares woulda made the stock near worthless (which it did)

2. Failing the ability to cash out, trump could keep the shares to sell influence at an inflated value of the stock price and legally sell off

The degenerate in me thinks it’s not a bad stock to own if you’re going to be betting on trump +105 to win the presidency. I’d rather own shares of DJT than bet on trump, odds are massively better

by biggerboat P

And we should believe him, why?

You shouldn't . Once he starts dumping shares the stock will crash though and the only folks buying these shares are the Maga crowd. You think there has to be a bunch of folks shorting it as well

by biggerboat P

And we should believe him, why?

I actually believe trump on this but not cuz of altruism. SEC rules would permit trump to sell in tranches if he chose to. The first tranche he sells collapses the value of a company that’s already worthless rendering the remainder of his shares near valueless

Makes more sense to bet you can win the presidency and inflate the shares

This is the narrative, the reality is different.

Democrat senators wanted that vote to show they were "tough enough" on immigration in a year with a terrible electoral map for the democrats in the senate.

Fellow democrats helped them get to that point, although 6 of them refused to support the bill and voted with most republicans to filibuster it.

McConnell wanted the help to Ukraine and the immigration bill.

Republicans in the senate never agreed on the bill, McConnell spent all his residual political capital to get the help to Ukraine pass, and the immigration bill, which was never approved by most senate republicans, got filibustered.

They never wanted it. "stunning turnaround after 48 hours" lol, they simply never wanted it. The minority leader int he senate doesn't speak for all senators all the times necessarily, it's not automatic.

Ofc democrats claimed it was Trump, but all republicans running for senate didn't want it either, immigration mistakes by democrats play well for their chances as well.

Lankford (R) was the sponsor (handpicked by McConnell) but he isn't running this year, he will in 2028.

by biggerboat P

Shouldn't necessarily believe him unless you think he thinks he gains by doing that (hint: this always apply to anything said in public by anyone)
