So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:
a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?
b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?
Trump is complaining about djt trading being halted twice like they are out to get him or something. Happens all the time with stocks but somehow this is political. Geezys this guy is a moronic lunatic.
This is the narrative, the reality is different.
Democrat senators wanted that vote to show they were "tough enough" on immigration in a year with a terrible electoral map for the democrats in the senate.
Fellow democrats helped them get to that point, although 6 of them refused to support the bill and voted with most republicans to filibuster it.
McConnell wanted the help to Ukraine and the immigration bill.
Republicans in the senate never

It's a little twisted that some of you both correctly assess Trump to be very bad in general skill-wise, and then are determined to claim he can control extremely powerful senators who have their self interest at heart much more than they could ever care about Trump opinion.

I believe that he called them up and told them not to go along with it, and they calculated that it was better to kill it for their partisan political gain. It was already going to be hard to pass and him coming out against it effectively made it impossible.
Obviously he has no real power to kill anything, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. Ukraine is a way different situation because it has broad bipartisan support, so they don’t need that many reps to sign on, a deal on immigration has been attempted to be secured since Regan with consistent failure.

We can’t trust Republicans reported support of certain legislation after it has already been killed by Trump. Remember, these are the same people that talk about how much they hate Trump behind the scenes and then fellate him in the public eye.

They didn't, Lankford tried a long shot. The house accepted that but senate republicans never supported a stand alone moderately rightwing immigration bill in an election year to make the incumbent democrat president, and incumbent Democrat senator in purple areas, look like winners. They never supported that for a second, ever.
There is a seat in Montana to win for republicans. A seat in ohio.do you really think they want to give anything to the democrat incumbent to use this year?
McConnell republicans play a different game from safe seats. And the turtle IS LEAVING, he doesn't care anymore if republicans have the majority. He is leaving.
Real politicians want to win above everything else, all of them. Win their own games. No I don't think 10 republican senators exist who want to give a better chance to democrats to keep the Senate. being a senator is powerful. Being a senator in the majority in the Senate is EXTREMELY powerful
