2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.
Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Being willing to be wrong as long as the logic and data are there to justify a decision is 100% the most important skill in fantasy imo
In my main league I have made by far the most trades, I have won more than I’ve lost, but I’ve traded away league winners and made trades that look silly in hindsight.
I’ve also won the league 3x more than anyone else and made the finals 2x more than anyone else. Given I’m not playing with the sharpest players in the world, but the willingness to be wrong allows you to maximize edges. Most ppl are terrified of being embarrassed or making a “bad trade”
I agree with you regarding the process of making decisions.
The fact that he was money from inside the 5 could mean he ran good but it more likely means he is still effective in short yardage.
I may be overly optimistic about what he can do even if he gets the opportunity. If Carson Steele is good it may be a mute point. I've seen this situation too many times where I regretted not pouncing on the opportunity. I think Hunt will be cheap maybe even free to pick up since he's obviously not on peoples radar. I will assume nobody is dropping a better player.
I realize that Hunt is not the same player. I do think he is a guy Andy Reid can trust in the backfield. I think Reid would like a guy who can both run it on first or second down and be able to catch the ball. Hunts pass protection skills may be enough to get him significant snaps. I'm also big on the change of scenery/second chance narrative that could be in play here for Hunt. I'm also hearing things from Chiefs people which makes it sound more like an inevitability that he will be called up.
All that being said, maybe Hunt is fat and out of shape and is cut tomorrow.
Hunt is staying on the practice squad this week. Gonna be starting Steele, Akers and worthy in one leauge where I drafted AJB, deebo and KW3. Luckily went against rhamondre this week
I'm embarrassed I started Hunter Henry over Kyle Pitts this week lol.
I thought that game would have been close and low scoring . Lol me though . I started Rhamondre somewhere . Luckily I’m against the worst team I’ve ever seen .
Check back after the falcons game. Could be negligible
Looked very good. I didn't even consider him much as he's breece's backup. What are you going to get out of him? Maybe a year if breece gets injured? I'd rather take someone like Tracy who has an outside chance to win the job. That's my bad logic/leak. Thought I learned my lesson when it was common to drop AJ Brown in rookie rankings because he was drafted by the Titans. Dynasty just draft for talent regardless of situation. Probably will never get through me thick skull.
I'm ready to load up on Akers in DFS if Mixon is out and he's starting.
You should have started Hooper.
Yep!
Jets just kept bringing the pressure and there was nothing Brissett or Maye could do.
Haha, you’re not wrong. But I’m guessing this will be the week he finally has a career game.
Apparently. Seems like they’re just clicking buttons in NE.
Mixon is listed as Doubtful so not sure exactly what sign you guys are still waiting for.
Pierce is 'Out' so unless Dare Ogunbowale scares you its probably Akers backfield for at least a week. (I will save you the trouble of looking, lets just say Dare's career YPC is not good at 3.3)
Yeah he's like 4k on FD so pretty easy plug and play.
I'm mainly waiting to see what his ownership looks like.
Does he have a history in the league of trading? You're probably right that's it too early in the season for some people to face reality. Would be fun to see his roster.
At that price I think you can basically be ownership agnostic. The value is so high. Just differentiate elsewhere
This is a startup and I’ve never played with him before in other leagues
His team is pretty weak, but he has some good rookie talent and he’s had some injuries
In case you think any of your leaguemates may be thinking this is a good time to "sell high" on Wilson. Timestamped:
Yeah, this early in a startup season we all think we're contenders.
Love that account name
Cut 1 in .5 PRR, start 2rb / 2 wr / 3 flex
najee, zack moss, ekeler, dowdle, spear, braelon allen, mclaughlin
JJ, olave, amari, kupp, london, jayden reed, brandin cooks, josh downs
ferguson, goedert
I could also cut 2 and pick up akers if I hurry. Leaning downs & mclaughlin.
I think those are the right 2.
I think McLaughlin for sure. I think downs vs cooks is close, but I may just be a cooks hater
One more knee injury of any kind to Breece, and it's worth unloading with both barrels on this kid.
Redraft for sure. I was just talking about bad rookie drafting process in dynasty.
Someone paid 62% last week in one of my redraft leagues. Doesn't seem terrible. Only a handful of equal or better handcuffs in the league as long as ARod is healthy.
