If I have understood him correctly he is not disputing anthropogenic climate change, but he has some plausible sounding arguments that the impact of it is nowhere near as disastrous as we've been led to believe (in addition, he doesn't care, but that's whatever). So, I am finding reading the responses from knowledgeable posters to that particular line very informative.
It Is not disastrous even for the worst affected countries (think Bangladesh), and with that I mean that even with climate change life is going to be bette than today 30 yeaes from now because of economic growth (so no apocalypse is incoming) and it's actually positive (and significantly so) for countries that started as colder than optimum for human beings.
Notice how the response to my "hello? Germany is obviously better off if it gets warmer because it starts as too cold for humans" invariably becomes "yes but think of Indonesia"

I don't think there is much to understand about his views on climate change. He isn't making some sort of scientific argument that disputes anthropogenic climate change. I'm not competent to get in the weeds on climate change science either. His view is more along the lines of "I don't care that it is occurring because it doesn't negatively affect me." I feel perfectly competent to respond to that view.

RCP 4.5 is peak CO2 worldwide emissions in 2040, and 2100 at around half the global emissions of 2050, so very very very far from net zero.
Under those Bangladesh per Capita GDP in 2100 is like 7-10% lower than the counterfactual with the same temperature as in +1900, which is still like 150-200% more than today because of economic growth.
And that's the worst affected country lol.
