To reiterate some of the points:

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Israeli officials have been saying for months (and years) that they want to take over Gaza. they want to remove the Gazans. hell, read a bunch of posts from mets and realize there is a reason why he wants to drive the Gazans to the Sinai.

No. Why would Israel do any of that? The Palestinians would just use it as a base to attack Israel. They would probably be attacking Israeli's while they are trying to rebuild Gaza. North Gaza should be completely leveled for the foreseeable future. The Palestinians have proved beyond a doubt they cannot be trusted to do anything but war. And the UN and other aid organizations has shown an inability to do anything but make things worse.
Remember, Israel tried to give Gaza back to Egypt, and Egypt was like, "**** no, we want nothing to do with those genocidal maniacs." And this is prime Mediterranean beachfront real estate we are talking about. You know how completely ungovernable you would have to be that no one wants land that valuable?

Well, yes, because Israel has always controlled food, water and power supplies to Gaza, and all access to and from the territory (including aggressive gunboat policing of Gaza's fishing fleet, as to exactly where they can go and when), so the UN wouldn't let Israel off the hook as the responsible occupier. All the same, Israel has had regular dealings and agreements with Hamas over these issues, more than you might think, and a better-led Gazan administration might have normalised relations to some degree and brought about prosperity -- except maybe Gazans would consider that to be treacherous. Palestinian leaders don't want to be seen as Israel's 'house Arabs'.
