[Global Poker] Unofficial Discussion Thread

Someone needs to look into GP and it's penchant for unreal play. I worked two weeks to build a 1k bankroll only to have all of it come down because of RTA or bot like play. I lost EVERY single flip I was in, plus got sucked out on by 3% losers on every all in play. Just not possible for OPs to be running that hot without some assistance.

Probably because your either using RTA or are colluding with GP or some bot farm. What's your GP nickname?

And why Global Poker won't ever let it happen. They're probably colluding with their RTA players and bot farmers. At least it appears that way from the unreal number of people who play >50% VPIP and still have >50% win rates. If they allowed HH download, we could police these people, but again, it seems those behind the curtain don't want us to. I'm playing the rest of my bankroll, since they also make it almost entirely impossible to fully cash out.

Along with the ACR scandal, looks like I'm stuck with Ingnition/Bovada, or just playing live. Because I'm surely not playing on GP anymore.

I have my own personal issues with GP but the specifics don't matter. Nothing has ever changed and likely never will. In any event, same, I've been playing 80/20 live the last few months after minimum 90% online play prior to that. The double whammy is live tourneys are much softer, but also "reliable" if you will.

What do you mean these days? Live poker has always been and always will be in the players' best interest. It's real poker. Online poker is not real poker. There will always be scamming, cheating, and corruption on poker sites. Global Poker is no exception. So unless you're helping run the site, have incentives from the site, or are cheating, then online poker is almost always a -EV play.

I play chess every day, as well as poker, and I kid you not, I receive a message from chess.com every other month stating that someone was found cheating, and I'm given back my lost points. This is playing chess online for no money, and people still cheat, a lot. Now, think of a game that is played for money, where people have much more of an incentive to cheat. OF COURSE they're going to cheat. In fact, the majority of people playing online poker these days probably cheat in some way. Though, of course, I never get a message from Global saying they found someone cheating against me and my sweep coins have been returned.

When the owners of these sites are mostly scammers themselves, then, of course, most of the player pool will cheat as well, and nothing will ever really be done about it.

People have in fact found a way to do it anyway, there was a thread a while back in the old Global Poker dedicated forum (I'll try to find it if you're interested) where GP player slickric42 (you can sharkscope) had bragged about a hand extractor on twitch live stream and evidence was presented indicating he was using one. I'm guessing that's why the site changed the hand histories replayer to not allow you to see others' cards anymore. That change is pretty recent like 9 months old max.

You're absolutely right, compared to other sites right now my sense is Global is much safer game integrity wise.

IDK - States are filing lawsuits against VGW questioning the legality of the sweepstakes model. So

I did a 5 year self exclusion on their website yesterday. I felt there were a lot of very strange hands played against me. I really don’t know how else to describe it. Just very strange…….

I was reading through the certification process and it doesn’t seem like it would be hard to fake it out.

By having accessible hand histories available to the community it would offer a greater deal of security.

The biggest thing I felt with global was it was a lot more variance than other sites. We have all gone through the streak where you can’t win a hand but it seems to happen more on their website.

Just my personal opinion.

If anything they made the hands less accessible.. lol… you use to be able to watch a table and then pull up the hand history. Now you can only do it if you are playing.

How much volume do you play? Statistically you need huge volume to recognize your EV .
Personally I’m $-18,000 lifetime on tracked online mtts over 750 games at average buyin $80 which is some runbad but well within the variance range which means it’s an expected outcome, at least that’s how I look at it. My understanding is you need 1.5-2k games to see any indication of winrate.

It's frustrating as a player on the site to constantly hear these complaints about the RNG from people who play low volume. Is that fair?

I probably have 200,000+ cash hands on the site. Not really sure what you mean by low volume. Low stakes yes, but not low volume. Either way opinions are like *******s…. And this ******* is done with that site.
