i got a fool proof way to stop them from paying cartels. if that ever actually was your real concern.
It is of course possible for pretty much anyone to get on a plane and come to the US-- no cartels needed--- you just need to meet the visa requirements in some cases or come from a visa exempt country. But plenty of people from mexico, central, and south america travel legally to the US all the time.
I would be all for eliminating visa requirements myself but it would probably make those flights back a lot more expensive.

On several occasions when he was running for president, including one time during a debate if my memory is correct, Biden was asked point blank whether he would promise to implement the progressive version of student loan forgiveness. He always refused, much to the irritation and frustration of progressives in the party.
Actually both Biden and Pelosi said it would not hold up to a supreme court ruling and congress has to pass .

HR 2 is a non starter. it's awful and dehumanizing which is the intent because republicans hate brown people. and in fact would be even more awful for those migrant children you are pretending to care about.

the worst part about it is that just because the predominant immigrants now are mostly black and hispanic, we get this false attribution to stances on immigration being rooted in racism
we forgot that our founding fathers used to go on and on about how terrible it was that non native english speakers were coming over
Ben Franklin used to complain about the Germans coming to Pennsylvania and genuinely feared the colony would lose its English culture and language and become a little bavaria
likewise the italians, irish, spanish, & scandinavians all faced strong backlash and resentment themselves when they represented major immigrant groups
its not about race, it's about large groups of people who are wholly foreign coming over and changing the culutral landscape of the area
my finnish & swedish great grandparents could barely speak english because they lived in a part of nyc that was all finns and swedes
likewise, my german great grandparents themselves never learned english and also lived in a german speaking neighborhood of nyc
fresh hordes of germans and nordic people stopped coming over so the germanic invasion solved itself - forcing their children no other option than to adapt and americanized even though they only learned english once they entered the school system - had continued influx of fresh immigrants from their land continued, they may have never americanized
much the same you get certain immigrant communities in america which retain their language and culture after multiple generations, creating a massive gulf between parts of america just blocks apart
but i promise you that if we replaced all the immigrants coming over with white europeans that none of the positions on immigrations from the overwhelming majority of the population is changed because this is about language and culture not at all about race and you're just aimlessly virtue signalling with assumption if you think otherwise

yes. my position on immigration is morally superior to most of the other people's opinions in this thread. therefor you could call it virtue signaling by the literal definition i guess. you pointing out that the anti-immigration people are actually xenophobic and not necessarily just racist isn't any kind of own or "enlightened" above it all position.
