LOGGED out went back in 10 mins later and got the black screen on tournament lobbies

When was the last time they raised tournament guarantees? Wish they'd run some more 2x buy in (Or 1R1A) with bigger guarantees. So many good ones during the series to basically nothing.

Did they change the hand histories? It used to be that if you check the hh, your hole cards got exposed for anyone else checking the hh.

I haven't seen anyone's cards in a long time, just wanted to confirm it got changed.

Nothing's different for me. I'm still seeing hole cards when I should.

Impossible. And it happens to me all day and night online. Simply can't play anymore because this is all that happens when I sit down. /shrug. I know "variance", right? Not for years. Not every...single...time...I start winning can the 2-10% beats start. Then flush over flush. Then set over set. These are not legit games.

They absolutely have behind the scenes algorithms that keep things in line to a certain point. I've just never experienced anything but this. For years.

I'm done. They're just blanketly stealing on these sites now via multiple methods. I've defended sites, ignored runs that were just beyond ridiculous, etc. I can't waste any more time just constantly getting it in as a 90% or greater favorite and losing. And then the "coolers" begin right after the beat. Flush over flush by one card, set over set, another runner runner miracle, etc. You're literally just not allowed to win.

That's not variance.

Theory of reciprocity says you need to start putting it all in when your 10% to win.
Using that algorithm to your advantage is plus ev.

Seriously, I started playing here couple months ago, and same brutal beats for me.
Think I got 2 outered the first day.

Variance is a bitch fo sure.

I don't think I'm going to keep playing. Seriously. The variance is just so wild that it makes the game completely pointless in anything other than massive sample sizes. I don't have time for it today. I'm almost 42. Way, way too many other things for me to be spending my time on.

I agree... at Global Poker I like to call it "'sweepstakes model' variance"... I've played online poker for over 15 years, and it's the only place I've seen this type of "variance" 😉.. that being said, it goes both ways so... sometimes you're the windshield, and sometimes you're the bug!

Very disappointed in Global. I really liked playing on there, but I recently bought 2- $99 tournament entry tickets for about $180. It was for one of their series. I used one ticket on that series and I figured I could use the other one on a future series. It was roughly 30 days later when I tried to use the other ticket and there was no ticket there. Apparently the tickets are only good for 28 days. I'm not disputing that they have this in their fine print, but it is totally ridiculous for them to just take the ticket you paid for after 28 days. I have been around online poker since 2004 back in the party poker days and this is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of. I have since withdrawn my money from this site.

Global is brutal.

It's gross the runouts I get vs people while I'm ahead in majority of pots.

Right - It's not even just a 98% beat. It's one where the only real explanation for villain's play is a series of misclicks. To see v mindlessly go all in with 2% equity and win, two or three times every few hundred hands, just makes the game unplayable.

I see it happening to others around me, too. Just horrible plays with 2-8% equity winning by the river left and right. It's as if they'll only let certain players lose so much at a time.

You’re 42 and play 20c games online. It’s essentially play money. If you aren’t getting enjoyment out of it, seriously, do something else.

I do enjoy the game. Just not the constant 90%+ equity beats that make the game basically unplayable.

I've played higher stakes in the past but the same thing happened. Guys calling off with 2% equity on the flop and finding the nuts by the river.

I know I brought up my age but that has little to do with it in all reality. There are 21 year olds who are millionaires and 55 year olds who are broke. Being 42 doesn't automatically mean I'm financially sound. At all. That said...yes. I am well overrolled for 20nl. And you're right: Due to this, a few lost buyins shouldn't really bother me. But they do. To take a nice, creative line and get villain all in drawing virtually dead, only to see the money go the other way by the river, is just beyond irritating.

Variance is a huge part of the game and is the reason why bad players continue to come back. If you don't like that aspect of it, switch to chess. If you think the Global RNG is rigged, play somewhere else.

I realistically can't spend time on Chess at this point. It offers no chance of monetary gain to me and takes up a tremendous amount of time. I'd rather spend that time on poker + life.

I haven't played in a couple of weeks now I guess. I have money coming in at the end of the week and somehow managed to save again this month. That + the free money I've been getting on Global for boosted dailies makes playing there a bit this week +ev.

Because that’s all they hope people play anymore. I used to be able to fire up 4-6 tables of 200plo pretty much anytime that wasn’t an early weekday morning. Now even at night, there might be 2 tables off 200 running. But of course all those 20bb table rake traps are full at all the lower and midstakes.

Decided to check out Global just to see what it was about and was shocked to see two people sitting with stacks of $164 and $128 at $10 PLO at 6am this morning. Is the site really that soft or did they both have the sun runs of their lives?

It really can be that soft. Those two were probably playing for hours at their tables and are both probably a lot better than the population of 10 PLO. They were definitely on heaters though.

The guy sitting with 128 is playing a broken stack on the other table.

Their tournament schedule is so bad lol. All these sites are ran by the dumbest most incompetent people. Just copy stars 2010 schedule and change the guarantees to fit your field sizes. Just amazing it can still be this bad ...

Agree. I said the same about their schedule in the discord. I think they should literally run a big series every month. I didn't notice much overlay in the Grizzly but I do notice quite a bit of overlay in their daily schedule which has really bad guarantees. I know most recs like freezeouts but they should really consider putting 1 extra rebuy in case you bust. It doesn't need to be unlimited but one extra is the way to go so the prizepools will grow the site. It is literally stuck at nothing right now
