US Immigration Crisis

US Immigration Crisis

I didn’t see an immigration thread so I figured I would add one. This problem seems to be worsening everyday of the current admin. Hopefully some of our new elected officials can help with this. Mr. Luttrell is a great start

a tipping point as in we just cant handle more people.

you can think its immoral but you are being overly idealistic. there are definitely people who will come here with the sole purpose of causing harm to our way of life. certainly, you must agree with this.

What? The sole purpose of causing harm to our way of life? First of all, I think freedom is our way of life and the border hawks are currently doing immense harm to our way of life. But, the intent to harm? No, I don't agree. Or what? like dozens or people? I've said before I'm not an absolutist. People have have IDs and Osama Bin Laden can be not allowed or arrested. ~everyone is just looking for a better life for themselves and luckily they make life better for everyone other than the *******s who get angry when they hear "press 2 for Spanish".

by sublime P

so because the tipping point hasn't been met yet, i am wrong?

the sun will die one day. you going to point out the millions of years of data that says otherwise to trump me?

Why would I ignore the data of other suns dying out while encouraging you to not ignore the data we have on immigration?

I am a fan of Latinos with particular focus on those fleeing from communist dictatorships which should have an easier explicit path to enter the USA or Europe.

We should treat Venezuelana and cubans better than others.

Hating communism is a moral imperative and a crucial element to consider someone worthy of the privilege (yes it is a privilege) to share the prosperity we deservedly have because our ancestors did more for prosperity than oth

Wrong.

Imagine thinking that the descendants of slave owners fully deserve inheriting the wealth generated especially by the USA than the descendants of they slaves brought over to the New World that helped make this wealth possible.

Now I'm not a racist or a fascist or a nationalist and I think everyone is born deserving an equal share of the resources they had nothing to do with creating more or less, but you all can sit with the guy who called asylum seekers "garbage people" I guess.

by microbet P

Wrong.

i assume you have a will that disperses all your worldly possessions to some random person from pakistan.

is your life insurance made out to your partner? why? they don't deserve it anymore than azuk el famid.

by Luciom P

(and so we fully deservedly inherited that)

lol, what do you mean "we" here? You're one of the foreigners conservative blowhards want to keep from entering the country!

Isn't this in direct contradiction to your "garbage people" opinion?

People get this wrong so often. The USA is not a house, America is not a family and what is and isn't ownable/inheritable is already arbitrary in the sense that it's just manmade laws and not any kind of universal truth.

You don't deserve the wealth of the nation the way Luciom was talking about it and letting someone come to the US is not the same as moving into someone's literal back yard.

by microbet P

Imagine thinking that the descendants of slave owners

sir, this is a wendy's

by coordi P

He thinks Black people from Africa without money or PhDs are garbage. That much is clear. Not sure who else makes his garbage list.

by coordi P

not at all? garbage people was a specific reference to people trying to illegally enter by boat a country where it's a crime to trespass the border, and they aren't fleeing from communist dictatorships (afaik).

and none of them afaik are Latinos nor fleeing communist countries.

we have people who tried to abuse asylum seekers rights in Italy in the most heinous ways, coming by boats, almost certainly our necessary reactions to their criminal attempts also voided the actual rights of some people who deserved asylum in the process, those garbage criminals actually damaged the very people we have a moral duty to help, those fleeing actual persecution or actual wars

People get this wrong so often. The USA is not a house and America is not a family.

the USA is a house built by like minded people. if the founders knew that in 300 years we would give away what they bravely fought for (and others subsequently protected) there is a reasonable chance the revolution would have never happened. or we would be speaking german and living in camps, supporting the master race.

we: citizens of first world countries.

and my dad is an American citizen and I could be on the same path whenever I wanted to (I don't, the **** i get myself strangled worldwide by FATCA you fiscal fascists can do without my taxes thank you very much)

no, it's not literally the same, but figuratively it is.

USA is a country club not a house yep.

America isn't a family it's a club with member privileges.

Germany never threatened you nor ever had any chance to conquer you ("man in the high castle" notwithstanding).

Japan otoh...

no, it's not literally the same, but figuratively it is.

it's literally identical to people who never contributed to building or maintenance, wanting to use your communal pool.

if it's 50 people paying for the pool or 300m, it's the same.

it's not "every human being" pool, it's to the exclusive benefit of the people who paid for it, their heirs, and anyone they decide to give access to.

come to think of it, we should feel guilty for stopping hitlers dream of creating a world without borders. i mean, all he was really doing was exercising his moral right to move around the globe freely.

I forget, are communists = marxists in your world view? That would help consolidate things for me

There isn't a lot of persecution or war in Latin American right now. Lots and lots of protesting in the last few years though, which I know you think protesters should be shot down in the street. There is lots of persecution and war in Africa right now. Kinda strange distinction to make imo.

no here I mean actual communist dictatorships like Venezuela, Cuba, north Korea.

i also think we in the west should give automatic permanent resident to anyone from China and Hong Kong (subject to future assessment, we don't want spies).

there is a lot of persecution in areas of Africa but take Nigeria: christians are persecuted in muslim areas, yes.

they can move to Nigerian christian areas and that's about it, there is no moral duty to host any Nigerian in the west because of religious persecution.

the instant your feet are somewhere the state doesn't actively tries to kill you, we are done with moral duty. we don't owe you a good life or anything, just a chance not to be actively hunted by an evil state entity.

like afghans flee and reach Turkey (as it happens often).

that's it, the **** Europe has to take them in, turkey isn't actively damaging them. we are done there

Yeah, very funny. It's the people who want to close the border to the invading hordes aren't like the Nazis. Haha.

Dude goes straight to allowing people to use the pool. Was that analogy an accident?

No it's not. It's complete bullshit.

I love that Luciom is here so that other people can either be revolted when they share opinions with him or at least have their quiet parts said out loud.

right. so personal wealth is okay to be passed down to offspring, but collective wealth as a nation isn't.

out of curiosity, how many immigrants are you personally housing right now?

public ownership for some people means "everyone in the world" lol, not exclusively citizens
