Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

All of Me
Roxanne
LA Story
Bowfinger

Steve's made some insanely good comedies.

To add to that list, I watched The Jerk and The Man With 2 Brains a ****-load of times when I was a kid. Loved pretty much all of his stuff. I still pick Bowfinger as my favorite though it may not be his best.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was very good too

I'll add:

My Blue Heaven
Planes Trains and Automobiles (obviously)

sooooooooooooooo good

Never played any of the Fallout games, but the series is good value so far (even if it is a blatant copy of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly).

Have to add Three Amigos to the Steve Martin list.

Have to add Parenthood to the Steve Martin list.

It's more an ensemble, but still excellent

My Blue Heaven holds a distinct place in my heart because it was the first "adult" film I recall watching and resonating with where I actually understood a bunch of what was going on. Obviously rewatched later and found I missed boatloads but it was the first film I watched where I finally felt like I began to understand the appeal for stuff intended for adults

interestingly, recall watching dirty rotten scoundrels, which everyone loved but me a few years earlier where I didn't understand why they laughed nor was able to follow the plot - watched it later and finally understood the hype

agreed, all his films rocked

there was something about him that made him funny just from his presence, he didn't even need a joke, like his king tut song, there's no jokes in there, nothing about it individually is funny, but everyone loves it

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is elite.

I am excite

Acapulco is back for season 3 on Apple. I love this show. If you enjoyed Ted Lasso, give this a try. It probably takes at least a few episodes to get into it, but definitely worth it.

Cobra Kai season 6 part 1 July 18th, I guess it will be 3 parts.

I’m excited for Cobra Kai, even though most of the kids have to be like 24 at this point.

That is better than Friday Night Lights where they had some in there early 30's and several in late 20's.

Samantha is 27. lol

Roast of Brady was epic

It really was pretty goddamn great! I saw the 3 hours thing and thought it would get old fast, but the whole thing was watchable. Even in its roughest moments, it was still good. Being live was easily the best decision they could’ve made. The funniest I’ve seen Kevin Hart since his first special!

I knew I had forgotten one of my faves. So hilariously good.

Excited but also worried about new Presumed Innocent, that is already a legit 4* near-perfect film with amazing performances from Harrison, Raul, et al.

Loved this one.

All-in pod mentioned Spanish Prisoner the other day. Never seen that before. Need to watch it.

the Spanish prisoner is fantastic but it's a mamet con movie not a comedy at all.
steve plays a straight role and it also has the amazing ricky jay (mamet loved him and rightfully so) altho none of his real talents were utilized.

great movie.

I love roasts, so I figured I'd enjoy it no matter what, but even still it blew away my expectations. They got a great lineup of roasters, Hinchcliffe, Nikki, and Ross are all excellent at roasting, Hart was a solid host, but the big surprise was the athletes. Edelman was incredible and is a natural at this, Drew was pretty funny, and even Gronk had his moments.

Hopefully Netflix does more of these, which I think they will. I always loved the Comedy Central roasts.

Worth watching if all I know is he was a top QB and was with a Brazilian model?

Are you a football fan? I think there were a lot of jokes that would have went over my head if I hadn't recently watched the 10 part Dynasty series on Apple. Maybe not over my head, but I definitely had a greater appreciation for some of the nuance.
