If one person, even the leader of a party, says nasty things it is bad but isn’t nearly as bad as say dem politicians coming together to say trump will end democracy.

ok ok, i think if we talk humans vs any species of bugs then the bugs obviously win
if we narrow it down to a single species of bug then i really like our chances
ie we can't say we'll be outlasted by cockroaches as there's like 5k species of them - we need to specify which species of cockroaches will outlive us
So the security displayed enough incompetence for there to be legitimate concern for their involvement which just adds a level of uncertainty to the ordeal that makes it really hard to consolidate.
I don't think you could have planned it out better to make Trump look good so its pretty far fetched that a long string of incredibly unlikely events came together to make this happen

The bugs obviously win even if we expand the "gods" to include all primates. And they almost certainly win even if we expand "gods" to include all mammals.
