He’s self admittedly pulling out because of his own decline.

I missed that. When did he "admit" that?

Come on if he’s 15 years younger he’s never pulling out, and he’s beating Trump in a landslide.

You guys like to argue just to argue.

You got me..he’s pulling out because he was told he can’t win. (Because of his rapid decline….)

So is the dem argument that the 30+ dem politicians that said Biden isn’t fit to run for president actually means

1) that running for office is actually harder than being the president (which of course none of them know because they’ve never been president) and he can’t handle the campaigning

Or

2) that all of them can read the future and at some point in the future Biden won’t be fit to be president but right now he’s fit to be president?

if only his age weren't such a surprise

VP George Clooney and this is a wrap imo

no truer words

I don’t live in a world of hypotheticals.

He’s not pulling out because he’s a young man and wants to pursue a new life of building EV’s and rockets like Elon.

He’s self admittedly pulling out because of his own decline.

You guys like to debate just to debate.

My point is valid. He endorses Harris. He thinks she would be a good president. The line of succession is in the constitution. He can resign and Harris can finish out the rest of his

Let me refresh your memory …

by briangriffingster P

If he’s unfit to beat Trump..he’s unfit to be in the most powerful position in the world.

U like change goal post don’t u …

And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

Where he says he leaves because of his decline and his unfit ?

Ps: we are not debating , we are force to correct your bad takes .

I think we are saying running a campaign is a popularity contest and winning a popularity contest doesn’t necessarily translate being great at running a country .

Trump is obviously one great example of that .

I don't know what it is about option 2 that is even remotely surprising. People's cognitive ability declines as they get older and it's clear that Biden's is deteriorating. It's not even slightly strange that people would believe that Biden in his current state is fit to carry out the rest of his term (or at least believe that it would cause more problems if he didn't) but also believe that it is likely he wouldn't be fit 4 years in the future.

It's also worth noting that almost no Dem politicians have actually said that Biden "isn't fit to run for president" so the whole argument is a bit of a strawman to begin with. The statements have always been that it's better for party/country if he doesn't, without stating exactly why beyond saying that he's not the best option to beat Trump.

Thank you for admitting you just made that part up.

He could. But that wasn't your original point, it was this:

Which of course is quite the controversial take as you know, so it's rather silly to keep coming back to...

Wow put Clooney in there and Trump might drop out of the race (joke). He can't take losing again. But I don't believe it will ever happen. Clooney might be the Dems version of bullet proof super electable Reagan.

George f.....g Clooney. lol

He's even dumber than cackling Kamala.

No it means the polls were showing he would probably lose. Nothing more than that.

by ligastar P

weren't they furious w her bc she still had to pretend to be backing JOE?

Some were a little upset because of the organization of the event and it wasn't what they expected. As far as I heard, no one was upset with her.

But not as dumb as you.

Is it that controversial when something like 70% of democrats think he’s unfit to run for office…and election is in 100 days or so?

/edit I get you guys think people are saying he’s unfit from Jan 1st 2025 until Jan 1st 2029.

He’s a young healthy able minded individual today on July 22 2024.

What do you think unfit to run for office means? If you don't say "polling poorly" you are wrong.

by GTO2.0 P

I mean, I hope you’re right. My faith in people is at an all time low though. Kinda feel like a lot of people just like to make fun of Biden or used it as an excuse to justify their Trump love.

the dirty little secret is that Dems have been doing better w whites (eroding a key R constituency) over the past two major election cycles (2020 and the 2022 midterms). all signs point to this trend continuing. whites still make up the bulk of the electorate (that will change later this century)

college educated whites

Clinton (45%), Trump (49%) -- 37% of the voting electorate
Biden (51%), Trump (48%) -- 32% of the voting electorate

** the 2022 midterms showed Dems scraping away even more college educated whites from Rs

non-college whites

Clinton (28%), Trump (67%) -- 34% of the voting electorate
Biden (32%), Trump (67%) -- 35% of the voting electorate

this trend is a big problem for MAGA. college educated whites will vote. Dems will likely eat more into this key R voting block. will R gains w POC be enough to offset these losses?

now Trump has chipped away a bit w blacks and a bunch w Hispanics. AZ is going to be difficult this go around for Dems bc of this. NV should still be lean-D tho for Dems. if Harris is on the ticket, she shores up the key Dem black voting block which obv helps in WI, MI and PA

the Gaza war hurts the Dems in MI and Biden is the face of that hate. now his face isn't part of the ticket. that plus Whitmer's all-star status (she is arguably the Dems brightest star... a future Dem presidential nominee) in the state should be enough to secure MI

the focus for both parties is going to be WI, MI, and PA ldo. i think Shapiro gets serious consideration for the ticket and he would help seal PA

things are obv fluid. but we know that MAGA has put forward a historically awful ticket. let's wait and see what the Dem ticket looks like and how the swing states effect their process

Clooney should actually be compared to JDVance ….
Of course that just slide by you .
And Vance aint has dumb as Clooney , his even worst then Clooney ….

Whitmer brought Michigan online poker and legal weed, almost instantly. She's also quite likable.

He’s polling poorly because he looked like a had one foot in the White House and one in the nursing home during the debate (and in prior appearances)

He tweeted that he can no longer “talk” or “walk” like he used to the day after the debate.

He mentioned that he doesn’t want to work after 8pm anymore.

He can no longer remember names or statistics during his speeches.

What are some of the other reasons why you think he’s polling poorly?

Do you think 2020 Biden ever loses to Trump?

by Montrealcorp P

Yes.

Time.

Yes - he isn't about to endorse a nominee that can win. All up to the delegates to make the right call - open convention and let all candidates put up their hand. Harris has the slight edge with Biden's backing but it should be made an open race.

I'm sorry, I missed it. Did you answer "because he's polling poorly" or not. Reminder, if you didn't, you are wrong.

Not sure how the dems are going to win crucial mid west swing states with Harris - be interesting to see who her VP is
