2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Pick 1 keeper from this group ($200 auction 10tm .5 ppr, qb/2rb/2wr/te/2flex)
I have $275 (minus Chase kept for $35), 1 tm has $150, another has $175, the rest have $200 (due to trades from last year)
Almost all of the first rd will be kept except one of Breece/Ajb
I can keep
JT for $28
Rice for $5
McBride for $5
If we know Rice won’t be suspended this year, I’m guessing it’s Rice, but what if it’s still ambiguous?
If I kept Rice or McBride they’d be $15 next year and $30 the year after
JT would be $38, then $53
Guerendo is a cheat code in Madden 25. 21 carries for 107 and 4 TDs and 5 catches for 117 and 1 TD.

The mini schnauzer and best ball mania are basically the same structure with different advance rates and final sizes for the playoffs. Both have a week 1-14 league pod with your draft mates and then weeks 15, 16, and 17 are playoff pods. You can see the advancement structure, payouts, etc. in the tournament details on Underdog.
The Marathon is weeks 1-17 cumulative scoring against the entire draft field.

I don’t play keeper leagues, but I do think it’s between Rice and McBride. Especially since that gives you $23 more of leverage when you’re already the richest drafter.
I know it’s not TEP, but being 10 team and only having to start 2 WRs, I kind of lean McBride. It’s possible he’s more valuable at $15/$30 the next two seasons than Rice. Especially if we assume Rice faces a suspension next year, if not this year.

Thanks for breaking it down! Does that mean that Marathon league will be decided in the final week 17 by the team that has scored the highest amount of points total during the 17 week stretch?

I love this team, but remember I'm a super-newb. Been trying to get an elite 2 QB build with AR, Kyler, Lamar, Jayeden. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm only a dozen or so drafts in.
RB should be OK, but the WR/TE has a good chance to pop.
One thing that would help a guy like me would be if you posted the game, UD or DK, and most importantly what your draft position was. If this team was from the 1.10 or later, I love it. But if it's from the first 3 picks, not so much.

Now Addison is injured. The Vikings should just pack it up and come back next year.
The JJ faders will feel max pain. He's going to beat quadruple coverage like no one ever has before.
I've been fading Jefferson and now I am fading him even more. I wouldn't touch him in redraft. I'll have a sprinkling in best ball. Mullins was ok for JJ last year because he has always thrown for a lot of yards. Darnold has not. I think Jefferson is gonna be the "We should have known better" player this year. He will get his targets and he will have his spike weeks but there will be frustration along the way. The vibes are not good in Minnesota. I can see a situation later in the year where JJ gets an injury and the Vikings decide to just shut him down. If I get pick 5 and he's there I'll take him in best ball because I'm open to being completely wrong on this. Every "expert" seems to have no worries about him.

I’ll take my 8% in best ball and call it a day. I don’t have any dynasty shares and won’t have any redraft shares unless he’s an insane value.
And yeah, cart in training camp definitely doesn’t mean the same thing as during a game, even if everyone is over dramatic when posting about it on X.
Hopefully Addison is fine. He’ll also be a redraft fade, but I have a couple of dynasty shares. I guess he might drop even further in best ball. When the decision is Sutton, Shakir, Palmer or Addison, it’s really hard not to take Addison.

I have 22% Jefferson and have him in dynasty . We shall see how he fares this season .
