Does anybody know why global has rakeback for cash games and not SNG/MTT? Or maybe a rep can address a timeline when it could be implemented in the future?

unofficial thread so no rep will be addressing but I would imagine its not viewed as a winning promo to them.

there's enough competition in the cash game market that they pretty much have to offer something to get regs to put in volume there. tourneys, with guarantees and overlays, I think they view the regs as being somewhat baked into their schedule if they want to get in volume.

as for SnG's they're probably so far down the priority list and just not worth promoting in this day and age.

just my interpretation of the situation.

They were beta testing sng rakeback a few months ago. They said possibly late fall for a timeframe. MTT rakeback probably wont ever come. David Lyons said there are overlays and freerolls on purpose that "act" as rakeback for MTTs.

Wow that's exciting news, I would definitely grind on there a lot if offered SNG rakeback

global screwed me - had a feeling

postal requests mail in

waited 9 weeks - n after asking them emailing " whats going on "

they finally said - that all of them are invalid because the word promotions - I wrote " promotion " ( without the S )

which i know 1000% is not true - because when i was triple checking every word for spelling i noticed 5 of the 50 i sent missed the S

so i filled it in same pen same everything

, also because i kept 10 cards back that are exactly the same as the 50 i sent out

and all of them are correct - word for word , letter for letter

, I made a google doc with every word spelled out - screen shot from there promotion sweepstakes rules

so i know for certain - i had everything correct

i feel like they can just pick n choose - who they wanna give this too

or maybe its one big sham ? - i know ive heard from ppl who have gotten it so i dunno

but i even sent them pics showing the cards i left behind - showing everything in order

i took my time doing these - hours , spent like 60$ CDN to send off - and waited 9+ weeks just for them to say whatever they wanna say

maybe they just give them to loosing players ? - or who knows

anyways never going try this again , its out of my hands once i send them off - they basically can say anything they want

They're super shady with this sort of thing. If you're in the USA, file a complaint with the FTC and FCC about the illegal sweepstakes they're running. That's the only way to apply pressure.

On a scale from 1 (nothing will happen) to 10 (it's over) how bad is this?

Too early to know just yet but I would say not good. When Michigan made them stop they gave the players a few months to cashout so I wouldn't worry short term. Everyone knew this sweepstakes crap was just a way to bend the laws. It was only a matter of time before this happened

I think I ran in to a couple colluders today, chk out this hand. Final table of "the little big one" MTT

https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/9a8092...

There's no reason for the BB to fold here when the SB is all in for less than 1 BB. If he timed out, it would've been an auto call but he just pressed fold.

Probably around a 2-3. I am sure the regulators have received plenty of complaints and have done nothing.

I read this article a few days back, and it may provide some insight: https://www.gipsyteam.com/news/20-10-202...

The late, great Chad "Lilholdem" Batista was one of the first to weaponize these massive stack asymmetries in high ICM pressure spots. Back then, way before the game theory revolution, he referred to it as "r*ping the bubble".

thanks - interesting stuff - yeah i mean who knows what to think

im still going play on Global - super soft

and im getting staked to play MTTs on 5 diff sites - so not really about the money

just feel like i got suckered in

spent about 50$ CDN + 5 hours , to mail those off, and yeah not a good feeling

im assuming this is a 1$ BI ?

im not surprised ive seen many many times on diff sites

BB fold when they can check - literally could of checked , and instead they fold

i didnt even know this was possible lol

so yeah in a 1$ MTT this kind of thing doesnt surprise me

Sent in exactly 100 envelopes this time last year. Never got sweeps or a denial. 12 months!

Emailed them a few weeks ago, still awaiting reply.

What's up Global Poker?

I used to send in envelopes regularly, 50 to 100 at time, no real problems.

Anybody else getting stiffed lately?

(I gave them about 30K in blackjack, I would think I am a VIP at this points)

Unfortunate that this even has to be worried about. Would you guys expect another site to come and basically fill the vacuum that Global would leave or would the entire US player base basically be on either WPN, BetOnline, or Ignition?

There are other smaller sites that are trying to get up and running under the same Sweeps Cash model, namely Clubs Poker. I've seen smaller poker influencers advertising for them. If Global Does go down, other Sweeps Cash sites will follow suit I'd have to imagine. So the player pool would have to go to the three options you listed, Coinpoker, or app games

I doubt it. WPN would be the only legitimate place to play, and their games are terrible.

That doesn't really make sense, logically. If the government shuts them down for running an illegal sweepstakes model, I suspect the other participants will pull out, as well.

What I meant by the other sweeps sites following suit was that they, too, would be shut down or bail out on their own

how long ago did u send in the 50 . or 100 - ? , this was my 1st time trying it - and i just think its one big shame

like they can basically say whatever they want - even if i did photocopy them n proved to them that they are legit

im sure they could just say anything

anyone else getting an error message after clicking redeem prize?

Is there no sound when players check for anyone else? Just pure silence when check is pressed
