1st it was Michigan and now Connecticut. Is this the beginning of the end for GP? on a scale of 1-10, how bad is this? 1 being dont worry bout it and 10 being its blk friday again? Which state is next?

It may be the beginning of the end for Global Poker and other new sweeps poker sites in legalized states like Michigan and Connecticut. They're likely getting more pushback from the legislation that's in place in those states that allow poker sites to obtain licensing and legally operate within that state. But certainly if GP gets taken down in these states or others, other sweeps cash poker & casino sites will be shut down/leave too.

ItÂ’s hard to say (if it’s the beginning of the end for legalized states) because Nevada, Jersey, PA are all allowed and youÂ’d think theyÂ’d have big targets on their backs so it may be that regulators in those states already heard and dismissed ASGs complaints.

Is the site down for anyone else?

Im also having connection problems..... my tables were not showing up and now im able to play but its running really laggy. missed quite a few BBs in a 99sc mtt =(

I'm, too, having issues. Thought it was on my end at first. Blinds disappearing from the tables at times, lag, skipping to catch up, etc. Nothing making the games unplayable but something is definitely off.

So you guys aren't actually concerned about Global shutting down entirely...you're more concerned about it being pulled from the regulated states only?

Based on the action that has been taken so far, (AGA investigation, closed it's doors to MI & CT), it seems like there is more scrutiny for GP coming from certain states where online poker is legal. I am solely basing my opinion on that. It could be they're really in more hot water than the public knows, but this is all speculative.

To clarify, AGA doesn't investigate, its a casinos lobbying group that wants state regulators to investigate.

AGA's goal is to restrict online access in every possible way so that more dollars are gambled at brick and mortar casinos. I'm sure they lobbied hard against legalization in those states that have legalized. That's why I doubt Nevada, PA, NJ are looking at AGA's recent memo and going "gee never heard of these guys, I guess we better do something now."

"The AGA wants to shut down all offshore gambling opportunities for US players but not promote the legalization of state-regulated igaming."

There are two guys who have been colluding everyday non stop in sngs from $15-$200. They are chip dumping the most obvious spots that it seems they don’t even care about getting caught. Like player a bb for 200 and player b has 240 chips left and will shove and player a will fold.

I’ve seen it happen so many times in the last week and if you look up their ss they have all the same games played together in over a week. It’s the most blatant colluding or multi accounting I seen.

Just their sharkscope alone player a has his most frequent played game with player b by 4-5 times in one week alone. They log in and play the same games all day and log off on the same game every day for a week straight.

If you play those sngs regularly I’m pretty sure you know who they are. I reported this in the global discord and most of the people in there tell me to stop talking about and not to say their names. Someone else in the discord said he noticed it too and pointed out their names so I know I’m not the only one who has reported this. I’m surprised global is still letting it go on

The Global public discord is filled with rec players who don't know what's going on. Post their names, post the proof

I don't understand the problem lately but it's quite tilting. I even had the cable company here for three hours yesterday and the games on global are now actually unplayable. Costing me money and therefore no reason to play. Constant lockups followed by a series of "catchup" images that bring me up to speed. NO reason for the lag and not experiencing it with anything else. Constantly pressing an action mid hand only to have it time down before the action even registers.

Anyone else going through this? My connection is the best it's ever been and yet (only with Global) it's impossible to play like this.

Global denied having any issues on their end and it was an issue with my internet. Sorry my internet affected you guys as well! 🙂

It’s peteystayfresh89 and dream217

You can check their sharkscope they have been playing in every game together for 2 weeks straight almost. They are literally playing right now together. One of their sharkscopes is locked but you can see the last 10 and they are always games that dream played too. Peteys most played opponent is dream by almost 5 times in one week alone. If you play with them you will see them chip dump etc
One of the guys in the global discord told me posting someone’s sharkscope info is against sharkscopes tos and I need to stop so idk.
It’s so weird they are mad at me for posting about blatant collusion

There's no question that something is awry lately. I downloaded firefox and tried it from there and it was much better. Global is undergoing 5am maintenance currently so maybe they'll fix whatever is wrong.

I had to quit yesterday because of it. Blinds disappearing on screen but the lag with the catch up was terrible. I'm on fiber internet that averages around 600 mbps.

Still at it every day even after being reported

Blinds disappear on my MacBook with chrome, but on my PC with chrome, I’ve never seen it.

I mean they're sponsoring NFL players and celebrities, I doubt theyd be tasking such a public strategy if they truly were in danger of being shut down. Theyd want to be as low profile as possible

I wouldn't use that as a litmus test at all.

FYI, I haven't gotten any more lag/ disconnects since the last time I posted about it in here a few days ago. Is anyone still getting lagg/ disconnects? If u still get lag, u might want to use firefox instead of google chrome when playing global poker. GP seems to like firefox better than chrome, esp for slots, in my experience.

I reached out to Global support to see if they would offer any compensation for the disconnection issues on 9/9 and they stated that since it was a "me problem" they couldn't offer anything. I took a screenshot of this thread showing that the issue was being reported by other users, and they said yeah, sorry, we had players who did not experience any connections issues so you are out of luck.

So just know that if you are in a tournament or in the middle of a cash game hand, and Global has connection issues, you will be out whatever money/equity with no recourse.

^^ is everyone aware that you’re only supposed to use Firefox to play on global? I thought this was common knowledge.

Also, there have been some posts in the discord in the past about people having trouble on Global with major internet providers ATT, Verizon and that Global had acknowledged that users of those providers were having issues but basically passed it off as network problems of those providers.
Obv the issue is probably Global not the IP but at least one guy insisted that after he switched to a T-Mobile hotspot it was night and day better. So if you play the site a lot and keep having issues it might be worth a shot.

I've never used Firefox for Global & never had an issue over the years with connection. Dogsht ignition is another story.

It's unfortunate that the best option for poker in the US is this windows 3.1 based GUI. No waitlists, no huds, no table organizers, no hand history downloads, no aminations, no stand-alone app, an irritating sound scheme with graphics from Pogo games; exact opposite features of convenience for the players. I'll give that the 30% rakeback is a nice incentive whereas ignition gives nothing but its still hard to boot up & grind on this site. The frontend is just awful.

Honestly, Windows 3.1 card games had better animations. At least WPN presents their trash, shaddy, bot-infested site with a pretty nice looking GUI even though I will never play there again.

Also unfortunate because the US market online is pretty soft & Global's deposit/withdraw is pretty smooth (plus can deposit via card). As I said, automatic 30% rb is nice but this GUI needs to be trashed and completely overhauled. Even WSOP recognized this about their own site & redesigned it. Time for Global to do the same.

Boot up? You mean if you can get the login screen to work? 😂
