They were advanced maps and websites and groups with active members who posted about how Hillary was stealing the election and how she lost. They had maps showing 90% of the US voting for Trump and it was very well done. I paused a number of times during the 2016 election and asked myself, who is making these maps?? They are so well done but it’s not like a well done meme, it’s well done political lies.
I don’t know what happened in 2020 wrt how it was ****ed but it is naive to think the Russians ****ed us in 2016 and then just gave up
curious what Russian propaganda I subscribe to or read? I live in the USA and believe USA propaganda to a fault.
lets look at 2 things I believed and posted about repeatedly.
1. I fully thought Ukraine would overrun Russia with superior NATO weaponry and tactics
2) I fully thought Israel would destroy Hamas and find the hostages in a few weeks or months at most

But you don’t think it’s odd the I/P conflict has you converted to full blown anti American gooner? Right before a critical election? Doesn’t raise your eyebrows even slightly?
Ah the ole motte and bailey technique of argumentation. “Russia didn’t interfere in an election” becomes “Russia didn’t interfere with voting machines”.
By the way, Russia seems to have found vulnerabilities in our election system in all 50 states during the 2016 election. So even if they didn’t find evidence of vote switching, we know that they had the ability and were taking active steps to do so.
If Russia tampered with actual voting, I'll concede that they interfered, yes. I just don't see how spreading fake news is anything the U.S. government and PACs aren't justified in doing. It's unethical. It's sleazy. It isn't preventing any part of the process from properly being carried out, though.
If we're gonna call fake news "interference," where does it end? Fox News, Al Jazeera, MSNBC, CNN, the plethora of expressions of free speech through blogs and individual personal X accounts? We're talking about a slippery slope toward preventing free speech.
That said, if we wanna classify Facebook and X as media corporations and regulate them as such, that's another story for another thread. But social media networks allowing the flood of fake news from bots and even mainstream media sources is on social media networks, not the unregulated users of social media.
